The Shot

I'm not taking anything away from Leddy because he is unbelievable but that goal was luck. The puck was up on it's side when he shot it. It is basically impossible to aim when the puck is like that. That thing could have gone anywhere. He was simply taking a shot on net which turned out to be a very pretty goal. If that puck was shot like that in those same conditions another 500 times, it would not once do what it did again. But it still looked pretty damn nice. A snipe? Maybe, but not intentionally.

Voting for Mr. Hockey was done before the tournament, so that goal has no effect on the outcome, even though it would have helped if the voting was today.Papa Bergundy wrote: I leaned over to my buddy after that "snipe" and said that shot just locked up Mr. Hockey for Leddy. Sorry Hano I've jumped ship.
At the end of the season they don't ask ask ya how they went in, they ask ya how many ya got.bardown30 wrote:I'm not taking anything away from Leddy because he is unbelievable but that goal was luck. Maybe not that but it certainly locked up a first round draft choice or at least early second round in the NHL draft in Montreal this summer - the kid can play.Papa Bergundy wrote:Bardown, I can't tell if you like playing Devil's advocate or if you are the devil...![]()

With hanowski getting the all time scoring record and leddy winning state, wouldnt it be nice to give the award to someone who hasnt had a big kind of thing happen to them win it. even if leddy or hanowski win it im happy for them and all and they deserve it im just saying someone else can get a little pride.
uggh... hopefully they get it in before the college bball selection show.bardown30 wrote:The banquet has been going on for more than 2 hours, and last I heard, they hadn't even started to announce the finalists yet.HockeyMN1 wrote:Didn't they say they were gonna anounce it mid-day today, which should be pretty soon?

I'm glad both are Gophers!

Leddy had a comment in the Pioneer Press this morning that he thought the puck was going into the netting above the plexiglass when he shot it. After shooting, he said he turned around to skate to the bench for a line change, when he heard all the fans cheering.
As said by somebody earlier, the puck was on end, and nobody
(even the shooter) didn't know where it was going.
Even the great ones get lucky once in a while.

Funny how the great ones seem to get lucky more often than the other ones. And they are quick to admit it too!BodyShots wrote:Leddy had a comment in the Pioneer Press this morning that he thought the puck was going into the netting above the plexiglass when he shot it.
