PeeweeA Site - New Hope

Another thread discusses the Bantam State Tourney location. What about New Hope? It's the other extreme - is it too small to be hosting a state championship? Where will everyone park? The lot barely has enough room for everyday activity. Do they have any plans for alternate parking?

This should be fine New Hope is a great facility that has hosted past State tourney's. D3 will be able to deal with parking problems but there may be quite a few considering this is the only tourney in the cities.

The Armstrong/Cooper Hockey Asociation in cooperation with District 3 will host a great tournament. This will be one of the best Pee Wee A Tournaments ever. The premier matchup is Friday night, when Edina and Wayzata faceoff at 6pm.

Are you serious?

The parking will not be a problem, at all. New Hope just hosted the Nike Bauer U18 Invite earlier this year, and parking was not a problem at all.

I have noticed that when big events take place at New Hope the parking is fine.

OMG! Would you all quit crabbing about WHERE a state tournament is held? The Bantams are crabbing because its not all at the Little Ralph.... PeeWees are worried about parking.

Good God. Your team made it to the STATE tournament. Enjoy it for the kids. If you start complaining - that is what the kids will pick up on.

Enjoy your kids' teams success (note: kids success not parents').

Go to the arena you are told they are playing in and support them. Don't crab about the parking, the refs, the popcorn, etc............

I don't think you know the situation at New Hope that well. Being from a team who has played countless games at this arena, I know that it could be a bigger problem then you're stating it to be. Don't get me wrong, it's a good place to play hockey, but the parking lot there is far too small. It's parking lot was at its capacity for even the regular season district games. I'm sure they'll figure it out, but the OP has made a very valid point and shouldn't be discredited by you...

The popcorn isn't really bad at this venue is it? Thanks in advance, may have to sneak some in.

Except fo rthe MOST stalwart fan of Pee Wee hockey, nobody stays for anything other than their game and the walk up crowd isn't that substantial. I have been be New Hope several times and parking hasn't been an issue. I didn't get to park at the front door each time but tournament crowds are cyclic, there for the game that matters to them and leave.

I went to the absolutely packed Bantam final three years ago between Edina and Centennial. You just parked in the neighborhood around and walked a block or two to the rink. Just like a HS game.

Good venue for this.

I love New Hope. I am always telling my boys I am going to buy one of those houses right across the street from the arena and that way they could walk to hockey practices. In the wooden rink, you can watch a game in your shirt sleeves. Showcase has been using the site to host Meltdown games for years.

Might want to go into the first game without freshly sharpened skates, just in case the ice is a little soft, but that's the case with most arenas In Minnesota at this time of year.

New Hope is a fantastic venue! I love this arena.

That's one of the great things about this forum, the Dads are whining about the parking lot and the popcorn and the hockey Mom is giving tips on blade hollows and soft ice. Nice job DMom, I'm impressed.

i was at the tourney. watched all but one game. parking was no problem. the people who ran the tounament did an outstanding job all around. thanks for a well done tournament. on personal note the organ was just a bit annoying lol....

Different stokes for different folks...
Thought parking Friday night was a pain in the butt, but the rest of the weekend was better than I expected. Started this thread based on previous experience there - love the arena but always seem to have problems finding a parking spot there. Maybe not having Edina and Wayzata in the Sunday finals changed things - Wayzata and Edina fans sure showed up Friday.
The organist, on the other hand, was a real treat. What a great tribute to years past. That organist is pure history in Minnesota hockey. Watchdog, do you even know who she is?

Sue Nelson, she is the organist for the Twins and used to work for the North Stars. Her music was NOT annoying it made the event even more special then it was.

ok!!!!!! i knew who it was they introduced her at the game. its not that she did a poor job. maybe if it was mixed alittle with regular music. it doesnt matter it was just an off the cuff comment.
