You know the Machine will win it hands down. What -- how can you not acknowledge the attention to fine quality and detail -- especially when combined with the functionality of the color scheme?

For instance, when Machine kids are not on the ice (as if), the attractive Machine ensemble can be worn for a variety of purposes. Deer Hunting: Yes kids, you can save your family precious money on the protective clothing required during rifle season by simply throwing your Machine jersey on. Your dad will thank you when he writes his next check to MM! Road Construction: Kids -- this is another opportunity to earn money to further your hockey career. Just throw on your Machine jersey and become an instant construction/detour sign! That's right! You can finance your hockey career just by getting dressed every day! Cones: It's true kids. You can also earn $$ by throwing your Machine jersey on and working as a cone to delineate traffic patterns and identify the no-parking zones in the MM lot. And, if you are third-liner, you can still participate in Machine practices by becoming a cone during the drills the first and second line kids get to skate.

Yes, I know the Machine buys these jerseys on purpose; yes I know it's the player, not the jersey; and yes, I am kidding.

Not applicable: no "other" season for Machine

OK Roadrage - I am still laughing my #@* off. Gotta love the orange. Where did he come up with that? Guess they have to finance the high priced clinics somehow! Who knew?

Not sure what is more laughable, the orange jerseys or the Used Car Salesman dressup these kids are forced to wear to games. Actually great marking technique by the self proclaimed great one, bring as much attention to your product as possible - even if its at the kids expense.

My vote is for the Blades uniforms, very classy!!

Classy beats gaudy every time! Haven't seen the Icemen recently, but have always admired the Blades jerseys.

the Icemen jerseys were redesigned this year - number on front looks old school.

Personally, I like the RBK uniform with the Penguin and the matching white helmets....nicely done.

What the heck, I'll stick up for Bernie.

Nobody else wears blaze orange. In addition to the obvious immediate recognition (and the fear reflex associated with that), you also have no need for home and away.

Is someone really going to make the argument that wearing a tie is child abuse? Not in the best interest of the kids? I wouldn't want to wear a tie if I were a kid; I don't like to wear a tie as an adult, but I hardly think that is detrimental to the development of the boys (do the girls wear ties). I suppose they could wear their jeans around their knees with a ball cap cocked slightly askew - that would look great.

last summer at the Duluth tournament a team with their shiny gold and northern wings (black jersey) were also very sharp.

Are you all missing the obvious issue/concern here when it comes to the orange and the ties? Hello! Bernie's health! Clearly there is something wrong with him if he is overlooking the opportunity to sell black ties with the Machine logo embroidered on them in orange. Don't you people care? The man is clearly in need of support, and the fact that these kids are wearing ties that are not leading to a profit for Bernie in some way is cause for concern. I think we need an intervention.

Seriously though, everyone who has had a child play for MM knows that when you sit down at your official kool-aid meeting (every year), you get the story behind the orange jerseys, and it isn't really about having home-away jerseys. Myth or reality? Discuss.

Finally, parents and kids, take heart. If your orange jersey does not win the jersey contest this year, or ever for that matter, and you don't get that D1 scholarship and/or get to the pros -- your $$ was still well spent. You can always road-trip to Lambeau field someday and wear the orange while you watch a Packers game. Seriously -- has anyone else noticed when they show the crowd that it is half Packers attire and half blaze orange?

Did the Easton teams get new jerseys this year? - the jerseys they had last year were hard to distinguish between their home and away as they both seemed dark.

Quit ripping on Used Car Salesmen. Its a pretty good gig; Monthly draw, flexible hours and free coffee.

Also, good training for those who aspire to be Mortgage Brokers.

There are more than a few former mortgage bankers currently trying to sell used cars.

The orange jerseys can be traced back to Bernie's Minnesota 88's. They were the powerhouse team that had Erik Johnson (St. Louis), Peter Mueller (Phoenix), Kyle Okposo (NY) among those that played on the team.

He must be trying to relive those glory days....

This thread is hilarious! My favorite jersey is from the now defunct Raptors but for current jerseys, I have to go with the Icemen.
