Early (am) PreGame Routine

Post by black sheep »

I enjoy some of the AAA bickering, so as long as I know you all are here...

I need some ideas for a good pregame breakfast and routine for early AM games.

Thx in advance...

Depends how early, how old and how close the rink is I suppose. But generically speaking for breakfast, healthy rice based cereal, juice and fresh cantelope are good ideas. All digest quickly, they don't sit heavy in the stomach and they provide energy. Stretching and jumping rope once at the rink, before they put their gear on, helps them warm up and get the blood flowing. Once gear is on stick handling a golf ball while they wait is good for some, others like to just sit and think about the game, depends on the kid (and again how old they are)
