Liquor Served At MM???

The Canadians will drink in the parking lot, so you'd just as well make a couple bucks.

Are we to believe that there are 20 some odd teams within MM, and not one sip has been consumed?

I drive a car. Kids seem to understand that they don't drive until they are 16.

There are over 60 teams in the Stars and Stripes, over 900 players, could translate to over 1800 parents , possibly over 2000 other friends and relatives attending the games. Now not all games are at MM but that facility will be packed morning until night with hockey fans.

Bringing in a local restaurant to provide food and beverage is a great idea. It makes the event better, it provides people options to get something to eat and drink. Is beer being served? Sounds like it, so it water, coffee, pop, gatorade, hot chocolate.

Twins games, beer sold
Vikings games, beer sold
Wolves games, beer sold
State Fair, beer sold
Hotel waterparks, beer sold

Parents getting drunk in front of thier kids in a hallway during hotel trips is not acceptable. Having a drink or 2 at the Hotel bar, socializing w/ other parents and being responsible is acecptable if a parent chooses to consume alcohol.

I'll bet the idea of bringing in a Restaurant to provide food and drink during a summer hockey tournament will catch on.

Unfortunately the combination of tournament organizer and arena owner is probably the only way that idea works. Maybe the Dakotah will set it up so you can watch hockey while enjoying a cocktail, pulling the one-arm bandit, and even lighting up a duty-free cigarette. "I'll take the Legend over the Synergy; give me the 2000 Icemen covering the spread; and throw in the 'over' on the 12U game for the parle."

Yep...Beer served. Beer enjoyed.

We were a bit surprised that it was served at a youth event.

All the other venues people have mentioned are adults playing sports or the arenas are on college campus's.

Now the games...

Lots of great hockey to watch!!! Bantam 2nd years with a lot of skilled players and fast games.

Enjoyed the weekend very much!!

Funny, I have seen plenty of Machine parents have a beverage in the lounges and in their rooms when out of town. Maybe you should see page 19 of the "Machine Parent Handbook"

I'm not really an advocate. I don't tend to drink at those places, but I think my kids need to learn about the social aspects of alcohol because it is legal.
Bernies Quote..."Its not about you the parents.. It's about the kids" that is why he enforces the no drink out of town law.. I have heard it from many parents.. just another Hypocritical statement coming out of his mouth,when in fact when it is all about the $$$ it is ok. He should be embarrassed. That being said I will be supporting MM on the outside. With Beer being sold he might finish that third rink.
