Breck was and is a very good team. If they weren't they wouldn't have found a way to stop Hanowski. If this topic was "Little Falls: State Champs" then this discussion of them moving up to AA wouldn't exist. Congrats to Breck. Class A has just as much talent as AA.

And all of the players on Breck are AA, playing down in class!

The only thing that decides whether someone is an "A player" or a "AA player" is the school that the person attends.

Public schools are not entitled to hockey players that grow up inside the bounds of their districts.

According to MSHSL rules, you are correct! Common sense says that if a kid comes from a AA public school pool, and is one of the best in that pool, he/she is an AA athlete. A great advantage the MSHSL has given private schools, be a sports factory with AA kids playing down in class because of the private school enrollment numbers, because the more enrollment the more good athletes. As you know, the spirit of the class rules is to give equal chance to all schools to compete according to the size of the school's community enrollment. Private schools can choose to keep their enrollment low, while admitting the finest (AA) athletes to compete.

I go to a AA school. And Hanowski, DeLisle, Lapic, Mattson, and Palmquist aren't talented beause they play A? That's ridiculous.

Most reasonable people here would agree that Class A has many fine players, including some of the state's best players; it's just that Class AA teams are typically deeper and will usually have more of them.

Go back to school

Read the bold sentence "Class A has just as much talent as AA" Fact is, "A" certainly has some star players. "AA" has many more star players.

Additionally, when did South St. Paul (Palmquist) & New Prague (Lapic) become privates? Did I miss the something?

Go back and read the rest of this thread and tell me if you have any more questions. Perhaps you can answer the last set of questions that I raised that the person claiming we needed change did not answer. Otherwise, I believe I've covered all of this.

My bad, I had private schools on my mind. I stand by my statement that there are more "stars" in AA. But, that is stating the obvious.

Are they, or an A playing up to AA (as all privates should (or AAA))?
