I would definitely add White Bear Lake into the top teams.

Agreed. WBL will be tough. One of the Lakeville teams should be tough again too..

I'd add Roseau to the top AA teams.

Should be an improved team. I don't believe that they lost anyone. Unfortunately most of the teams that finished ahead of them this past year will be strong as well. Definitely in the top 10 though.

They graduated 7 seniors and 100 points. It will be tough to make up that loss in a short period of time.

I suppose it depends on how well their recruiting goes, Money is getting tighter and the Scholarships may be harder to get.

We had a wrestling team much like Apple Valley in both stature and record. We were accused of recruiting from time to time. The funny part is that the school was an orphanage sponsored by the Hershey Chocolate Corp. In order for the school to recruit they would have had to have found the wrestler they wanted and then shoot the parents to make the kid eligible to get into the school. Yet there were still cries of recruiting. They overlooked the fact that the 2000 boys that went to the school all lived and grew up on dairy farms and our grips, forearms, and upper body strength were second to none. Not to mention a wrestling coach that is in the Pennsylvania High School Hall of Fame.

Lefty, it is OK to start a Holy Angels thread.

Iceage, funny to even think about Holy Angels as a orphanage for poor farm kids. Not sure if you were poking fun at them but the few Stars I know don't need to clean there boots very often.

Had nothing to do with Holy Angels..........just this "recruiting" thing I keep hearing about. But as long as we are on Holy Angels, they have a good core of 9th graders (sophomores to be) and a bright spot in goal (Clara). I believe she was the goalie for the Riley Ice Cats as well.

From what your saying, I gather that they are about 2 season from being a Top team again. Superstar might be wrong, but probably not... 8)

Superstar already lost some credibility when he picked the 6th place finisher in the Lake to be a "top team" next year.

Frank Thumb - Not you again....

I will go on a limb this year and predict my EP Eagles will finish in the TOP 5 of the Lake Conference...and We will have to go to state - Like the last 4 out of 5 years...

Do we have to rehash the recruiting thing every year? It's funny how it's always thrown around with the privates, when in fact there will be more big name transfers to to two classic lake teams this year, then AHA has had in it's girls hockey existence. I know you are going to say they take kids as freshman, but if you take a closer look at any private school roster, I would bet good $ that more than 3/4 of the kids on any roster were at private grade schools, these are typically families who prefer their kids get a private school education.

As far as getting back to the original post. It my only comments are it seems that the bulk of the good teams (AA) will be in two sections. Should make for some exciting section play.

Will know pretty early how strong Hill Murray is - great first five games (YIKES  )

Stillwater 11/25 @ St. Croix
WBL 11/29 H - Aldrich 3 PM
Edina 12/1 H - Aldrich 8 PM (Last two years they have played late in January)
Warroad 12/4 @ Warroad 7:30 PM
Roseau 12/5 @ Roseau TBD
Then 2 confernce games
Duluth 12/12 - Aldrich 3 PM
Then 2 confernce games
GRG 12/19 H – Aldrich 3 PM
Edina Tourney 12/28 @ Braemar
Edina Tourney 12/29 @ Braemar
Edina Tourney 12/30 @ Braemar
Then 8 conference games
BSM 1/30 @ St Louis Park TBD
Then 2 conference games
Sections 2-12 or 13
Section 2/16
Section Final 2/20

Does anyone know who else is in the Edina Tourney - it has moved to Braemar for this year which is a big step up from MN Made.

I believe that the first five games will define their season. If they do well they will be ranked. If they do poorly it will be hard to climb based on their conference schedule.

Edina is hoping to be a strong contender again this year. Edina has again set up one of the toughest schedules in the State:

Nov 28 BSM, Blake or Breck (Cake Eater Tourney)
Dec 1 at HM
Dec 4 at Roseau
Dec 5 at Warroad
Dec 8 Roseville
Dec 12 Stillwater
Dec 15 Wayzata
Dec 17 at Centennial
Dec 19 at Armstrong
Dec 22 at Burnsville
Dec 28 Edina Tourney (Hopkins, GRG, Duluth E, HM, Irondale, Maple Grove or Lakeville South)
Dec 29 Edina Tourney
Dec 30 Edina Tourney
Jan 9 Hopkins
Jan 12 at Minnetonka
Jan 14 Blaine
Jan 19 Armstrong
Jan 23 at GRG
Jan 26 at Hopkins
Jan 30 Minnetonka
Feb 4 at Wayzata

Are you referring to his EP prediction or his one of the Lakeville teams prediction?

I do not have to Be FrankThom but I will write like him>

How small of a limb are you walking on? EP will probably be in the top 5 of a weak Lake conference, but your stats on 4 out of the last 5 years going to state are a little off.

04-05 not in
05-06 in Pezon and company were great.
06-07 not in remember Wayazta? Morris does! How did they not get in?
07-08 in won the whole thing. 7 non EP players
08-09 not in
My math says 2 out of 5

Ep had a good run for a while. I was surprised that they did not go further with the Lacombe sisters last year.

I hate to nitpick but I thought I'd mention that the LaCombes are cousins not sisters.
