Duluth East 09-10

With Knapp gone, will Amber Fryklund be able to carry the load by herself? Anyone besides me wondering if she'll stick it out? The debacle over Lou Bellamy is far from over...hope the team can pull together.

I keep hearing Fryklund's name in the St. Scholastica talk....not sure if there is any truth to those rumor's or not.

Gotta believe CSS will go bigger that Fryklund. I would think Knapp has a good chance at CSS before Fryklund comes into the picture...maybe they'll do the same thing at CSS they did at East.

I found out that interviews have been conducted but at this time no offer has been made to anyone.

Well, there you go then. Frylund resigned yesterday. Surprise, surprise. A new job at Marshal is what she's claiming as the reason for her resignation - may be true...awfully convenient.

There's some justice when coaches make bad choices. That's my story here - and I'm stickin' to it.

Duluth East

I did not think that Duluth East had a girls program. Pretty certain that Duluth girls hockey is made up of East, Denfeld and Central. Is that correct?

Well the coach for St. Scholastica's new team has been announced as Jackie MacMillan so I would assume Shawna Davidson would be eyeing this job...

Do you think Shawna would come back? Wasn't she kind of "ousted" in favor of Knapp / Fryklund ?

Well right now she's stuck coaching the 14 year old Icebreakers so I don't see why she wouldn't want to come back.

Duluth would be retarded if they didn't hire Davidson.

Any word on how the hunt for new coaches is going? Or is the Duluth School District still dredging the harbor for the ship Jimber scuttled right before it left?

Shawna Davidson named Head Coach of the Duluth Northern Stars today.

As a player, she starred at University of New Hampsire and also with Team USA .

Also, formerly an assistant with the UMD Womens team where she won a National Title, as well as former Head Coach of the Duluth Central/Denfeld Devils.

This is a move ISD 709 SHOULD HAVE made in the first place when the original merger. Better late than never I suppose.

Congrats Shawna!!!

Dropping from two head coaches to one? Congratulations to the Northern Stars on their addition by subtraction. Congratulations to Shawna as well.

It's probably hard to speculate at this point, but does anyone know if Shawna plans to keep GameMisconduct or Jim's star pupils on staff this year?
