2010-2011 D1 Commitments
Time to start this thread for the class of 2010. Lots of whispers about who is going where - but nothing to announce - this is a bookmark for when it is time. Appears there will be a number of D1 players in the class of 2010 though the 2010 Olympic year may kink the numbers a little.

Some highly skilled players have committed!
Check out the beyond the dashers website; several players from this year's National team have committed to Wisconsin and one to BC for the 2010-11 school year
Thanks for starting the thread Joe. I've had my ear to the ground hoping to pick up on some of those things whispered. Quite a bit of fine talent in this Minnesota senior class I'd say. I'd expect no drop off...if not an increase in the total to D-I.joehockey wrote:It is why I started the thread lots of MN HS kids are having discussions not sure if there have been any verbal commitments yet.
Lots of discussions last week down at SSM - one 2010 SSM girl to UND and whispers on a couple of thier big scorers in the class of 2010.
And those whispers on the SSM big scorers...myself and just about every division I women's hockey fan is watching that "situation." I believe I've mentioned my hopes there. Hopes that are also likely shared by fans of all the powerhouses. I recall how you thought it could play out. The absolute worst scenario in my view...bordering on creating a near impossibility for anyone else to compete on a like level...because she has to be just about the top US prospect in the 2010-2011 class.
Until I read differently with my own eyes, I won't doubt your prior thoughts on the topic...it wouldn't surprise me.
I have heard there is some serious interest in an Eastern team or two involved as well.
Where Kessel from SSM and Kendall Coyne from Chicago Mission go are two very interesting National topics - not sure how many in MN have seen them play but both outstanding two year players on the U18 team - just imagine if they both ended up together somewhere outside of MN - Yikes! I don't know anything and like you watching with anticipation.brookyone wrote:Thanks for starting the thread Joe. I've had my ear to the ground hoping to pick up on some of those things whispered. I'll confess to being very interested to see where Bethany B of Roseville goes...among many others. She's a great player I'd take on my team any day. Any edge for Serty up in Bemidji in this recruiting battle? I have no idea...but she would obviously help the Beavers...presumably Emily E will be ready to go for her freshman season.Bensonmum wrote:It would be interesting to know how it went yesterday.......
Of course Bethany B will help any team.
Former Raiders have looked very good in Maroon & Gold.

You have to believe these top forwards (could debate if these are the top 7 but all very good) had a lot of attention yesterday they are strong on the rink and in the classroom - and they are all a little different in thier game and physical, speed, quickness attributes....some would say the Amanda Kessel and Kendall Coyne (maybe the top 2 National forwards in this class) effect is shaping a whole lot of decisions...in alpha order - of this group who will end up at UM? How many will stay in WCHA? How many head out East?
Bethany Brausen
Corinne Buie
Dana Gallop
Cara Johnson
Kristie King
Gina McDonald
