Totally worthless pick for publicity for the new GM and Head Coach.

Too soon to tell, let the man play a few in the WCHA before judgement!

Terrible coach, his program produced 4 D 1 players this year. Two of those players were NHL draft choices. The one that was missed may have a chance at playing in the NHL someday.

Two other players heading to Ann Arbor and another that was asked to tryout.

No exposure for he kids, the man sucks!
Is this an endorsement for or against Giles? With all that talent, how could they not win a High School Hockey Championship?

Because in one-game elimination games, sometimes a bad break or two can end a season.

True, but in the game I watched, they just got out played by a better team. No bad breaks or lucky bounces!

3 years in a row of bad breaks and unlucky bounces? I don't think so. At some point the coaches have to take the heat for not getting it done.

Giles was brought up in this thread because someone made the ridiculous charge that his coaching ability caused Budish's draft stock to fall. Seeing as Budish missed all of last season with a football-caused injury, that's an utterly baseless claim.

If you look back a little bit you can find entire threads devoted to discussion on Giles' perceived merits and failures as a head coach, which I suppose you could revive if you really wanted to. But can we try to keep this one on topic, for once?

Because it is one and done, not the best of 5 or best of 7.

Surprised that Schroeder was not picked earlier. He was a top ten prospect. Surprised he was passed up by 20 teams. He is an exceptional talent. He has always proven that his size doesn't matter. Look for Jordan to be the best forward in the WCHA this year. Likely, he will move on to the NHL after this college season.

Was Leddy at the Wild's Futures Camp? I didn't see or hear any coverage about him.

You're right, I didn't, I was up north. The only thing I saw was coverage of the two SSM boys and a former draft pick. I'll have to look it up online. Does anyone know how Leddy looked with the other futures?

He looked good for a high school kid playing in a pro camp.

What the heck are you talking about? Didn't they play in the State Tournament? Weren't they on State wide TV 2 or 3 times during the regular season? How much more exposure do you need? The coaches job is to coach the team not call scouts and the newspaper to brag about kids or fill the stands with idiots like yourself.

How many other schools had 2 players drafted last year? How many players from Edina are heading to D1 programs even after a year or 2 of Jrs? Everson will have his day in the Pros. Who else isn't going any where?

Well, there are times on this place when you can never be too sure...

But I think it's pretty obvious when most of us who have been around for a while are being sarcastic and when we're not.
