I'm not sure who the Heat are, but the Raging Bulls are a new program that blends some local kids with some out of staters from Michigan, California, etc. They aren't a bad team at all.

So will Bernie and his orange 96s be playing? Who will no longer be playing? Who will be filling in? Since the Deuce is also in the tournament he can't raid them for players.

Inquiring minds want to know.

MN Heat

Did anyone find out who the MN Heat are? Looks like they open the tournament against the Blades so we will find out just how good of team they are.

Could this 1995 Heat team be the remnants of the Legacy team? on the Legacy web page they are on the schedule to play in the easton cup invite.

Mn heat might be a mixture of Flames/breakaway players.

Hi multiplesportskids. Great analysis.

I looked at the scores as well. For the most part, it looks like a team called The Machine beat a few Legacy teams. Is that a surprise? Not a surprise to me. Yes, my son plays on one of those teams and I thought the Machine team that they played was just incredible. Great players, great team, class act parent behavior, really fun to watch.

Of course, it looks like the 97 Legacy team did post a win...against a team called The Machine. You saw that score, right?

Saw the 00' games. Amazed at how big some of these kids are. The 00' Machine goalie is unbelievable for his age. He single handedly beat the monopoly. A referee told me after the game the kid is that good all the time. His orange were out shot buy a bunch but won 4 0.

and yes I do realize he's a 00'. Also was surprised to see a non blades team arguably out play the orange.

Did anyone else notice the size of the kids on the 00' Monopoly???? It didn't even seem possible.... Most of the Legacy kids were below their numbers.

Hey ETS - not trying to jam your comment but you must not have seen the second period of that game (3 - 0 Machine). Monopoly may have had the overall edge in shots but 90% of them came from the board side of the face off dots. Not sure many HS players could score on the Machine goalie from there. Also, the Machine completely worked them with the puck control. They connected at least four times as many passes as the Monopoly and they know how to work the puck backwards which is something the Monopoly doesn't do at all. I'm guessing the red helmet kid accounted for nearly 90% of the shots and the Machine knew how to handle him by pushing his rushes to the outside and effectively so. Honestly I thought the Deuce and maybe even the Easton team gave them a better game on Saturday.

BTW - Championship Monopoly 0 - Machine 6 (with 2 more Machine goals that were called off). Not even close.

It may happen someday like Y.E. Yang beating Tiger but not this weekend. Last time I checked the best you can do is tie if you don't score!

MONOPOLY HAS NO CLASS!!

Post by noIinteam »

2 best players on the Monopoly were renta players and they still lost to the Orange 10-0 in 2 games!!

Monopoly coach making fun of the Machine kids with his suit was a great move - nothing but class from the coach of the Monoply/Miracle/Lavurne combination!!

Renta player from Lavurne was fun to watch but ZERO points vs Machine??

Both games started with great intensity - neither was ever in doubt!!

And people deny that parent egos cause most problems in youth sports. We just want what's best for our kids. Nice try.

Watched today's final too. Not sure why the Monopoly coach was wearing a suit, the edge in this game was definitely with the Machine. Monopoly started out strong but tired. May be due to the fact they played 2 today. Can't say the Orange coaches were too classy, they were on the refs the entire time and were even yelling at the kid in red helmet repeatedly as he skated by their bench. An orange players parent even apologized saying he was embarassed. Not sure if these teams have prior history, but a coach yelling at a 9 year old on the other team is brutal!

I guess I couldn't resist chiming in on this one, as your facts are way off. I guess I won't hide behind a screen name. I am that coach for the Monopoly. I never at any point wore a suit to poke fun at any Machine players. They are kids. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the reason I wore a suit had nothing to do with The machine or that game. In fact I also coached a 99' team this weekend, and told the boys if they worked hard, I would gladly dust off the suit and wear it to the rink Sunday. It was a FUN way of motivating them,

As to the claim that 2 kids were "rental players" it's simply not true. One of the kids has been with the team for the last couple tournaments and will be next year. He attends practices and team functions like the other players. He also plays for another team.

The other kid lives out of town, and only plays for the Monopoly. He is doing development with us, and will continue to play with the team.

It intrigues me that it bothers you, as he was begged to play for the machine in this tournament and moving forward, as well as a # of other players from our team.

I was impressed with the young players on the machine! The goalie is clearly on a different level, and the kids played hard and with class.

As to the class of our program, we will be sure to try harder to gain your approval down at made!

Edit: I toned down my response just a bit, even though the original is quoted below.

Sounds like you're a stand up guy Monopolyman and I respect your post. I just want to correct you on one point - nobody begged the Luverne kid to play on the Machine this weekend - actually, quite the opposite. The parents from Lavurne (dad) initiated the contact with the MM program not the other way around. Maybe the parents told you something different but this is how it happened.

One other thing - IMO - you can't "play" for two teams in the same season without being a "rental player" for at least one of them.
