The parents voted to play A as well, not just the board and coaches.

Honestly I am not that familiar with that group as I have older kids and most of my info is coming second hand. And perhaps more than I would like to admit, a lot of my feelings are sour grapes as this group would have made up one of the better high school teams Cambridge has had.

But that being said, I do know quite a few of the parents and it did get really old going to the arena and hearing the constant complaining by a few in particular. The others that I knew were great people as you say.

A few of the kids would have probably left no matter what. But I can't help but wonder if the constant losing doesn't take it's toll after a while. Both on kids and parents. Maybe the kids would have enjoyed a winning year playing B1 and had a little more confidence in their teammates? I don't know, I just question if the plan of playing A no matter what is reaping the rewards that we were promised.

That way instead of a team like Cambridge losing 8-0 against Duluth East in the section quarterfinals they will only lose 6-2 and it will all be worth it.

Because it is a proven fact that playing over your head and losing every game makes you a better player. I hear next year that CINB is planning on going with 3 A bantam teams and no B/C teams so even more kids can develop.

In fact the varsity program is trying to line up some scrimmages with WCHA teams so the h.s. players will learn to play at a faster pace and it will help them prepare for the rigors of playing in the Mississippi 8 conference.

But should they have had a vote to begin with? Parents I mean.

Sounds like B1 would be a better experience for all players, coaches and parents. Frankly, better development (with the right coach) too.

I think there is a million opinions on the issue, but I think the only ones that matter are the opinions of those making the decisions. Even though they might be wrong...or right..it doesn't matter.

Hopefully the kids will have a fun year and the coaches will improve the players skills. I don't care if you have an awesome record, if the kids love playing, like the coaches, and are having fun at the end of the year thats all that matters.

Anyways it should still be interesting to see what happens with both the bantam teams and if they stay at the level they are at for next year.

Like I said before a combined CINB HS team would have kept those kids.....What a team they would of had!!!

If it is true that the parents voted to go A then I would like to retract everything I wrote in my rant. 8) Obviously it wasn't a unanimous vote as the people I talked to weren't too happy about it. But if they are in the minority they need to deal with it.

Parents definitely should have a say in what happens. They are the ones that are paying $1000 or more to have their kids play.

I can tell you are guessing here. Why don't you explain your picks here so we can see where you are coming from.

First Anoka will be .500 at best, Blaine is very weak this year (they lost their two best players to high school) and this is typically a down year for them anyways. Rogers had to bring peewees up to help their team, Centennial is decent, St. Cloud is decent, Coon Rapids is decent assuming they don't lose anyone to HS. Are you from Anoka?

This should be interesting. You have 3 of the top 5 teams correct in my opinion. Anoka and Rogers need to be placed lower Elk River and Coon Rapids need to take there position

Is this the first year for a Princeton A bantam team? Any scores?

Max... you might want to check back with your source/sources. A Bantam team will not be losing 4-5 skaters to the H.S. Varsity team

The Snatch has only been wrong one time and it eventually turned out that I was right.!.!.!.!.! Enjoy the next month and you may want to take in a B practice so you can take a look at some of your future A players
Max......Have you talked with your source lately? You might want to so you know exactly what is going on. I spoke with the REAL source over a week ago and it is not going to turn out like you hoped

Obviously this is just a pre D10 season guess. I would say that the top 5 could be in any order in this season. I think that CR and STC need to keep their players to really be there. Otherwise it will be a two horse race.

Your crazy if you think Andover will finish that low. I think it will come down to St. Cloud, Elk River and Andover. We'll see in February.[/img]

BL5- Actually I haven't but you seem to be mighty close to this situation. What does your kid think will happen to his team?? What has he heard in the locker room??

I don't have a child playing Association hockey any longer, but I still go to the rink to watch some good games.

Because they do not think they will be good. Why else would they rank them that low???

Andover is way too low, they have already beat teams like south st paul 6-4 and forest lake 7-2. Not bad teams.

Coon Rapids is ranked way too high, they did beat up Spring Lake Park 11-2. But how can you give up 2 goals against a team like that be ranked higher than 5?
