Wouldn't you think they could help themselves, if they had a website that contained this information and it was up to date.

Here is the link to the league.

http://www.hselitehockey.com/page/show/ ... ason=15923

The Girls Elite League shares the same web address as the Boys Elite League this year. The rosters are posted. Stats are kept by point streak........

I found this site by entering in High School Elite Hockey League Minnesota into Google.

The web helps those who help themselves.....

Thanks for the link, but I am still not able to see the All Star rosters. Maybe someone could copy and paste them into this thread as I am probably not the only one who can't spell IT.

I also was wondering if anybody has the rosters for the the 2 elite teams that will be playing this weekend. Also I will agree the coaching was very bad for the outstate team. It seemed the coaches thought it was social hour during the game between themselfs. There line changes were 1:30 or longer. Other teams were having 2 line changes for 1 by the outstate team.

I thought white had

Also I think the D are:

Erickson
Pendleton
Marcotte
Gleason
Duellman
Ryan

F
Barnes
Kuehl
Colin
Snodgrass
Mork
Flatley (who I thought played D)
Paul
Stenerson
Berg
Crowe
??

I was surprised not to see Marissa Brandt, Turri (who had to play F and D because we were always 4-7 players short) and Laurel Miller whom I'm a fan of. From what I saw they looked very good. Again you always have difference of opinions.

I think a few of the girls are on college visits and could not play. I hope that is the case because we are missing a few good players. I went and watched a few weekends of games and it was fantastic hockey.

Forwards missing from Red are Jordan Burns - BSM, Kait Mason - Eagan. Taylor Kuehl must be on the White team.

It seems unfair to judge one team as stronger than the other. There are some awesome players on the White team, including U18 and Division 1 committed athletes.... on any given day.

I don't think it's unfair. All I was saying is the red team is a little more stacked. My opinion. And like I've stated before. Anything can happen and sometimes it's nice to be the underdog.

I stated at the start of the league the 3 teams were uneven and it turned out that way. I do want to commend the Outstate girls who made the commitment, changed plans, played sick and made it to most of the games. Most games where close the last 2 weekends.

This is the beauty of the sport of ice hockey. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My pre-season picks for the league would have been: East, Outstate, West......in that order, based on the names on the rosters.

Just like youth hockey where they award "Fair Play" points, perhaps they should have awarded an attendance recognition bonus -- where a team gets an extra point if everyone shows up...In this regard, East and Outstate would have had the advantage apparently.

Melvin 44 I find somewhat typical and unfortunate that you choose a website forum to shoot at our program. Change of attitude you suggest. Hmm based on the fact that two of our three games we were badly outplayed by the very high caliber of talent the elite league has to offer I am actually quite impressed with our girls and their attitude. As a matter of fact we received several very positive comments on our conduct from people who frankly I didnt know. but whatever your opinion is as valid as anyones its just a shame you place yourself in such a judgmental position on what is truly a great program. If all your worried about is scouts then you live in delusional world . As so many have said before IF you are good enough they will find you. The Elite program is a great start and addition for girls hockey. It will get better .As will we,I only hope (no wish) the officiating would catch up with the game. It is in my opinion a travesty of inconsistancy not just in the elite league but all over. Im out and done with this one /.

Points mean nothing. she's a solid player. If you played for outstate who averaged 1 goal a game played short and played your A_ _ off. sometimes it's pretty hard to earn a point. There's other important things in hockey. Maybe she's playing both ways catching passes getting puck out of the zone being a good teamate working her tail off. whats your daughters name? who are you? coward! I think it's pretty crapy to name a player.

I agree, totally classless. If you aren't able to articulate your point of view other than in this manner, then you don't belong on this forum.

Midwest elite league season II

Post by bghockey »

Politics were very involved in this league. It is not run very well because of this. There is one person who also is an assistant high school coach who needs to get out of the operation of this league for it to gain respect. Too many decisions in this league are made by a person who has a bias towards certain player's or schools.

So let me see if I got this straight. Quite impressed because your girls are outplayed and then choose to take dumb penalties and then swear at the refs. I think in every game people will blame officials. I think that officiating good and bad is part of the game and good teams and coaches rise above it. Make adjustments. Not use bad language and berate them. I know when I was a coach/ref and a player would swear at a ref she was gone for the game and suspended. I just don't think there is a place for bad language and therefore my comments. If I ran the team I wouldn't tolerate the language I heard under any circumstance. I do want to point out most of the team was great hard working girls. but the few who used this language were bringing them down.

I've had teams where we were outplayed and didn't resort to berating refs. Hockey is just a game and I would much rather try to make it fun. and have a never give up attitude. Work/build on the good things. Learn from it attitude

You say scouts aren't important in this league and yet you have a roster of post grads trying to play college hockey. (I think anyways.) Isn't this your goal? Maybe I'm confused.

One last thing. I've always been a huge fan of northern minnesota and their fans. Traveled to Grand Rapids, Duluth, Hibbing, Rosseau, Warroad, Bemidji, Morehead etc and have only the greatest respect for the players and fans. What I witnessed was not good behavior or attitude.

I'm sorry everyone but felt I had to defend myself.

Did politics play a roll? I think you need to ask these few questions to determine if it did. I was at more then a handful of games this year and last. Most of these girls are qualified to play in the All Star games so if you have a bias to a school or a program it will show.

If you ask these questions and you think that politics plays a roll in this league... Then don't try out or play for this league next year.

1. Were the girls told they could miss games?
2. Were they told they needed to make a commitment?
3. How many girls missed a number of games and still made this team?
4. How many Jr. White Caps were cut?
5. How many OS players were cut?
6. How many Roseville players were cut?
7. How many Stillwater players were cut?
8. How many Hopkins players were cut?

My opinion. Questions 4-8 mean absolutley nothing and shouldn't be mentioned. Let me ask the question of your list of questions who wouldn't you have chosen and where are you from because it seems that is your point. From my understanding it was the coaches decisions and I have to believe they chose who they felt played best duing the 4 weeks.

If you have a problem create your own league and do whatever you want. You can't please everyone and will always have someone who second guesses. ALWAYS! Picking a team is a very difficult process and nevery easy.

My daughter didn't make the team last year and I didn't attack the people who spend ton's of hours helping as many girls as possible get better.

Don't we all want a perfect world where everyone makes the team.

Slow down Melvin!

I don't feel that I was attacking anyone. I was addressing bghockeys post. He/she thought there was a bias. Asking questions is not a bad thing. I did state in my post if you think politics played a roll don't play for the team next year.

Ah Melvin, since part of the discussion is regarding politics involved in team selection and formation questions 4-8 would be among the most important.
