Squirt A Teams

Post by edgework »

I was at the recenet squirt tournamnet at velocity a couple of weeks ago and saw some pretty good hockey. Who do you think will be the top squirt A teams to watch this winter?
Bloomington Jefferson won it.

Of course, most of the real smart *** posters are at the other place. some at their own choosing, some were given traveling papers.

This place is mild compared to that place.

1) Edina - Why Not
2) E.P. - Good returning group
3) Lakeville South - Really strong group plus lost 3 to Fire.
4) Grand Rapids - Old and big
5) Hastings - Has a real strong group of 5 returners.

Outstate:
You have to throw Moorhead and Dultuh East because they have the #'s etc...
Other outstate teams is a question of who and how many worked a little on their skating and hockey and have grown and gotten faster...
you get the picture.

Metro:
One from the north wonders about the Centenials (and similar programs) that had such a run of good players and now seem to be less...

So if anyone knows anything to cheer about at:
Centennial
Elk River
Blaine
Anoka
Maple Grove
Wayzata
Woodbury
Maybe you can give us a Frederickesque (new word I just coined) summary of these and any others...

Why do we want to pick on a defenseless outstate program? I hear the guy running the show out there used to coach in Bemidji. Maybe he just needs some time to turn things around; we all know Bemidji folks are a little slow. I've been in the rink there; there are state banners hanging from 8 or 10 years ago. Sure, they finished 9th or 10th in D5 at every level except pwa, but this may be their year?

p.s. What happened to the Farmington guy? Did his kid move up to peewees? I would have thought he'd be all over this?

I know a Bemidji guy in Dassel.
There was a moroon in Mankato program but he moved back north.
There was a guy in Fairmont about 10-15 years ago but he is elsewhere now.

Could be a college guy (not original Bemidji) down there that I never knew when he was here.
