She is a small but really quck forward with a nose for the puck and scoring similar style to Hayley Hill the strong WB forward ( she is Ashley (new HM JV asst) and Jason Leopold niece) she lives in New Richmond, WI.Night Train wrote:Thanks for posting the HM roster. Nice team. It would be fun to see a few more as teams are announced. Where's Bobrowski from?
The HM team has three WI girls on the roster Link and Gavic are froim Hudson.
Good questions......observer wrote:Should Lund and Link be playing JV as new students at Hill? Are the privates held to the same standard with the transfer rule? Why are they allowed to play varsity? What was the MSHSL ruling that allowed them to join varsity?
Lund's family moved to WB and is clear because of move - she could play at another school public or private..
Link was at HM last year enrolled as a 9th grader and was on JV,

I don't feel these scores mean anything this early. This is what I've heard.F14 wrote:Please post scores if you know them from Friday and Saturday action.

WBL 7? Cooper 1
I wasn't in Duluth and don't know how the teams looked.
Re: Results
I watched Duluth outscore Hill Murray 3-1 this morning although I would say Hill Murray controlled the play. Paige Turner played well for Duluth, but split the time with the other goalie. I do not think McKeever played for Hill Murray. I think if Pendleton decided she wanted to score 3 or 4 no one could have stopped her. Hannah Brandt also looked very good. I can't believe the average size of the Hill Murray forwards. Wow, very small. No one really stood out for Duluth other than Turner.Melvin44 wrote:I don't feel these scores mean anything this early. Re: Results
She's a nice player but if she wanted to score even 1 or 2 goals she would've. I thought the Duluth girls played a great game. Were you talking about Brandt?wild77 wrote:I think if Pendleton decided she wanted to score 3 or 4 no one could have stopped her. .Melvin44 wrote:I don't feel these scores mean anything this early. I also thought Duluth played Breck pretty even.
Re: Results
I took the stats for the HM-Duluth game for another team (to remain unnamed). Duluth was out-shot 22 to 8. McKeever didn't play.wild77 wrote:I watched Duluth outscore Hill Murray 3-1 this morning although I would say Hill Murray controlled the play. Excuse the typo the shots were 12 to 8.
Re: Results
The 14 goals scored by WBL were scored by 12 different players -- great balance. I was at the games and felt the WBL girls played well. Re: Results
I saw the BSM game and I agree that WBL played very well. Unfortunatly I also saw signs of what plagued them last year (high number of penalties and they seem to tire towards the end of the game). The format in Duluth does not penalize you for taking penalties. You still skate five aside and the faceoff is just brought to your end of the ice. But like I said I only saw the one game and one is not a statistically significant number.jumpstart wrote:The 14 goals scored by WBL were scored by 12 different players -- great balance. Duluth / Cooper
Heard it finished 2-2. Not sure of any details. I know Cooper only has 2 lines, and the girls were completely exhausted.
4 Scrimmages in less than 20 hours, lots of hockey.

I watched all the WBL games. With the exception of Breck, WBL outplayed their opponents. The Breck game was fairly equal with WBL maybe having a slight edge in scoring chances.iceage wrote:I saw the BSM game and I agree that WBL played very well. They do have a balanced attack and should have a good season, IF, they stay out of the box.

I would agree with you that this is a big IF. I would also like to point out that most of the WBL girls play the game right, stay out of the box, and have respect for their teammates, their coaches and the game of hockey. It is like a basket of apples, a few bad ones, if left unchecked, can spoil the whole bunch ...
