Mark these dates down for HS Key Matchups early season

Post by iwatchalotofhockey »

A couple key match-ups early on in the girls high school hockey season in November that you may want to mark on your calendar.

11-17-09 Breck vs Minnetonka
11-21-09 Roseau vs Minnetonka (Rematch of 14U championship last year)

Look for these two games and others to be broadcast on the Minnesota Sports Broadcast Network this year! You may even be to watch these live so stay tuned as it is right around the corner!!!

I get it! Any game against Minnetonka is a key matchup right? Seriously though, Minnetonka does have a tough schedule. They play Stillwater, Roseau, Warroad, Edina (2X), Hopkins (2X), Blake, Wayzata (2X), Maple Grove, Cloquet, Proctor, BSM, Centennial, EP, Buffalo, Blaine, Chaska, Armstrong (2X) and TBA at the Kapiosa...

Wow, tough schedule. I heard that TBA has a pretty decent lineup this year, but I can't find their roster..... I guess they haven't announced the team yet!

I know you are just kidding but they did pick up at least one transfer. I think she was one of the better players at AHA.

Is this going to be the theme all season on this board? It is her families choice and as long as the AD and MHSL approve then she is part of that team. enough said. No whining when you loose to them, she is just part of the team. They have a great school and a great program (although we love to hate em) if the parents thought it was the best fit I hope she does great.

Of the schedules I have seen looks like Tonka may have bit off the most.

Cloquet, Burnsville, Lakeville, Maple Grove, and Hopkins in Cloquete this weekend for scrimages. Should be some great scrimages.

Looking forward to the Hopkins vs Centennial game on the 19th as a good early season tilt.

As I stated before I think the transfer rule is ridiculous and should be eliminated. However, since there is a rule I have no pity for Hopkins since their program has been caught doing some underhanded things in recruiting basketball players. It may be coincidence but its pretty interesting that in a year that the girls varsity is losing so many players they just happen to find 5 quality transfers. I really don't care but because of these factors, I think the legitimacy of any success Hopkins may have this year will be questioned by many the same as people questioned the legitimacy of EP a few years ago. So in answer to your question, I think there will probably be an ongoing theme regarding this issue. Just because people raise a question doesn't mean they are whining. I think you are whining because you don' like the question.
