I think it's just a little humor:
Chisago Lakes > 6-12-2 according to their web site. I have no issues with ranking them :o

I don't think Elk River will hold that spot.

Elk River will hold a top 5 spot. They are big and talented and three lines deep.

BB1 Move ups

Post by skillbuilder »

Ok, HS tryouts are wrapping up. Which teams lost kids to Bantam A when their clubs A kids got HS spots. Woodbury White lost their top D and top goalie to the A team. Anyone else care to share thier move ups? It will probably change some ranking positions down the road with those that took the biggest hits.

MPLS Park has play 4 of the top 10 teams ranked in LPH.
They all beat us up pretty good, but Eden Prairie was the strongest. Of the 4 we played I would rank them

1) EP
2) Wayzata Blue
3) Edina Green
4) OMG Crimson

We also played Jefferson, they are a solid team, but not as strong as these 4.

Wayzata Navy is clearly better than Gold from what I've seen. Must have them switched in the rankings.

The rankings likley list 20 of the top Bantam B1 teams in the state, and I suspect the final 4 teams that will play for the championship are somewhere on this list. That said - the order is highly suspicious.

Lakeville North has beaten several teams ahead of them. Sauk Rapids has a couple nice wins posted, but hasn't faced many of the ranked teams yet. Blaine has had a very tough schedule in the early part of the season (as has Elk River)... this will pay off in the long run. Eagan Green is undefeated, but hasn't played a lot of ranked teams yet.

So - all these teams are in the mix. It will take a few tournaments to figure out who is for real.

Wayzata Navy 8
Hopkins 0

Why is Blake even considered in the top 20 in the state of MN. Every team they played on the top 20 list beat them by at least 5 goals. They are closer to a mid-level B2 team than a top 20 team...Please

OK... I'll take the bait. You really put me in my place. You have no A team and you beat Forest Lake, Centennial, and Champlin. Pretty impressive numbers against teams that are showing a combined record of 7-6-4 (basically .500 on web-sites). I'm sure you'll earn your 'props' very soon, but your self promotion is a little pathetic. Do your job on the ice and you'll be mentioned with the big boys.

Chisago will be a good team this year just not as strong as they were in the past. They have beaten lesser quality teams like Centennial Black, Forest Lake and Champlin. Centennial Black is the lower of the 2 Centennial teams. Wait to judge Chisago until after they have played Centennial Red, Elk River and Sauk Rapids.

Wayzata Gold played Rochester in the Final at Stillwater. Gold won 5-3 but the game was very even. Stillwater beat Anoka for third place.

Unfortunately, many associations don't post their scores.... but by looking at tournament results, and some of the scores listed in LPH and on websites - it appears EP, OMG Crimson, Edina Green/White, St. Cloud, Wayzata Blue, Eagan Green, and Elk River have all should be mentioned in the list.

The other teams will shuffle around for a while until more scores/tournaments results are available.

Many of the teams in the top 20 list above have .500 records or lower.... not likley to remain in the list until a few quality wins.

These ranks are bogus.

3 of the teams don't even have scores posted yet. How can you rank them? please tell me?[/quote]

Relax..... if your team keeps winning - the rankings in November won't matter. If you are a top finisher in Districts and do well in Regions - you will be on the list on the only ranking that matters - that being the end of season rankings.

There are many very good teams on this list, and a number of them missing or misplaced. The fact that a team doesn't list game results on their website doesn't mean they aren't worth ranking. I just checked the Chisago Lakes website, and there is only one game listed (a tie with Blaine). That doesn't mean your team isn't any good or worth ranking... it just makes it more difficult to figure out where you should be placed.

Just keep winning and everything will work out.

Just because teams do not have scores posted on their website does not mean they should not be ranked. LPH posts scores every week and rankers use that and their own information to rank teams. Many rankers go out and watch games or are coaches in that level play.

At this point in the season I wouldn't put too much stake in the rankings. It is early and there will plenty of changes as the season rolls on.
