Edina/SLP
Giles really called off the dogs after the first period. The game could have got chippy but the coaches pulled their teams back.
Park graduated 12 of their top 14 scorers I was told from a Park parent which was 9-17 last year but defeated Richfield 5-3 the other night.
Rebuilding year, Started a Freshman in net for his first varsity game, pretty tough assignment for an older goalie even. Edina was tenacious in the first period.

The schedule is what it is. The score running up discussion is not new. It will be interesting to see the 3rd period scoring in the paper tomorrow! Were they doing it to get a hat trick or what. The right thing to do would be to tell the players to pass 3 times than shoot. Maybe they did this and I do not know. I was not at the game. Either way this should not happen. Did SLP do something to Pi@$ them off? Thoughts.

It was a big matter of experience SLP is packed with sophmores and started a freshman goalie. They came out and before they could blink and look at there surroundings it was 4-0 Edina and 10-0 after 1. There is a huge difference between Richfield and Edina and the one good thing I saw was everybody worked hard till the end for SLP. It was a learning experience and they will be better because of it and hopefully in two years when this sophmore packed team is seniors we can see a good old fashioned Edina-SLP rivalry game.defensedad wrote:mulefarm wrote:What should Giles do? I have always lived with the philosophy that in a large lead and the game was not in doubt, take a couple penalties like "too many men" or "delay of game" where the puck gets shot out of the rink, to waste another 30 secs to minute, and then have your team work shorthanded situations.

They play hard. They are better then I thought they would be, rematch will be good. Considering the Ponies had a late one last night, we get healthy should be a good game next time also.karl(east) wrote:Surprising in a good way?youngblood08 wrote:CDH 4(EN) - Stillwater 1
CDH surprised me. this was a very physical game end to end. Stillwaters injuries are showing some holes.
