Young Studs - Bantam "A"
Who are the top Bantam "A" players this year? I see a lot of threads discussing different teams, but I haven't heard about any individual talent thus far!
I know Hudson Fasching and Grant Besse would have been the top players if they didn't make the jump to High School, but who else is out there?

I'll never call a 9th grade child a "stud"...sorry. But both Tyler Nanne and Vinny Letteri (Tino's son and Lou's grandson) are both excellent players for their respective Bantam teams...and probably two of the top Bantam players in the state (who are actually playing Bantam and not playing HS).Bronc wrote:If you have to introduce your self as someones grandson so others think you are a stud, then probably not so much.nobama wrote:Who is Lou Nanne does he run the 95 Blades ???
They are both nice players, just having fun razzing you.muckandgrind wrote:I'll never call a 9th grade child a "stud"...sorry. Who is Lou Nanne does he run the 95 Blades ???
I thought your first quote was a joke; your second quote makes me think, not so much. My only response to that would be, "Wow."Sorry for the confusion..
Tino manages the 95 Blades.
I knew some family member was managing the 95 Blades.
That must be how he graded out so high during tryouts for the 95 Blades.

So you're saying your kids a b1? He probably got the shaft in tryouts.. both with his association and the bladesFaceguard79 wrote:Well, my son played AAA this summer and so we played the Blades at St Louis Park arena. My son wasn't that impressed with them at all, said he's played against better B1 kids in practice.

First of all I don't think anyone beat the 95 Blades "pretty good" this past off season. I'm not sure anyone in town beat them at all.
In order to be considered a top Bantam A lets start with players that are at least the best on their current Bantam A teams and I'm not sure Nanne or Letteri are. I also believe Tyler Nanne is a 96 first year bantam that played on the 95 Blades last summer to be with his cousin. He's a very good player, one of the best 96s I've seen.

I'd hate to call you a liar, but I'm pretty skeptical. I don't know of a single summer AAA team in the Upper Midwest (let alone Minnesota) that could beat the 95 Blades team "pretty good". The only Minnesota teams that could compete with them were the Icemen and Breakaway. Which one of those two teams did your son play on?Faceguard79 wrote:Well, my son played AAA this summer and so we played the Blades at St Louis Park arena. With the loss of Reno, Moore and Labosky - I'd say that Nanne is one of the top 2 or 3 players on that Edina team...even as a 1st year. Letteri is a 2nd year on Minnetonka, and I would be pretty shocked if he weren't also one of their top 2 or 3.Night Train wrote: In order to be considered a top Bantam A lets start with players that are at least the best on their current Bantam A teams and I'm not sure Nanne or Letteri are. Outside of them and a few others, it's pretty tough to determine who the top ones are because the ones that we could easily identify as the top players (Fasching, Besse, Reno, Broten, Cammareta, McCoshen, etc.) are all playing HS or at Shattuck as 9th graders.

You don't have to tell me who your son is, just tell me which team beat the Blades "pretty good". I know that team pretty well, and I haven't seen a team beat them "pretty good" in quite some time....In fact, I can't think of the last time I saw them lose to a Minnesota-based team.PoniesDad45 wrote:Sorry to burst your bubble there. They won the following tournaments this summer:
- Nike Bauer Selects Regional Tournament
- 2009 Easton Cup
- 2009 Golden Walleye Classic
- 2009NAHL Future Prospects Tournament
Don't know of another Minnesota team that could even come close to them, let alone beat them "pretty good" unless they were just playing practice players....and even then, I think they would be tough to beat.

If Camaratta, Raskob, and Mackoshin (not sure on the spelling) would have been on the roster for the NAHL Futures tournament, that might of been one of the best assembled rosters for 95's in Minnesota. With the addition of Fasching, Gross, and a few others, I don't believe there are many teams out there that could compete with them.
