Huge Classic Suburban rivalry, although Tartan has been on the short end of the stick recently.

How did St Thomas let in 5 Tartan goals? These games haven't been close in recent years. This isn't a good sign.

So what was the actual final score? MN Hockey Hub says 8-5 and I saw a different score posted somwhere else.

8-5 is correct

I was very impressed with Tartan freshman forward Jake Horton.

STA forward Zack Schroeder had a great game!!!

I thought it looked like Tartan got out coached, and their goaltender didn't have a good night. Tartans power play, i think 3 short handed goals is pretty unreasonable. St Thomas has the right players on the ice at the right time.

St Thomas won 5-1 and 2-0 last year and lost only a couple players, none of whom were huge contributors to the success of the team. Does Tartan have some amazing freshmen, or what happened?

LOL just one and lots of seniors. Those amazing players scored 5 but don't play a bit of defense though..8 goals is more than they gave up in both games combined last year!!!

Lots of scoring for both teams. save here- save there and it's a different story. It comes down to goaltending when you have about the same number of shots in a high scoring game like this one. 2 very good teams and Tartan will be a team to watch out for...

Good, would love to see them take out Hill.

Instead of start a new thread, thought I'd ask here. Cadets are scheduled to play at 2 @home today and Tommies are scheduled to play at 3 @home today. Same arena, one ice sheet (last time I was there), anyone know how they will accomplish this feat?

It seems like Tartan played a very good game but as always take too many penalties and still have a brutal power play, if Tartan can cut down on penalties and develope a powerplay they will be a team to lookout for. If their goalie can get hot he alone can carry the team.

St. Thomas, always a very good team, capitalized on Tartan's mistakes like they always do. They were the better team that game cause they played smarter, always a well coached team, dont take stupid penalties and a tough team to keep up with.

As for being out coached....I totally agree. Tartan needs to develope a powerplay and become smarter players, keep their composure and calm the heck down when things dont go their way or the other team gets chippy like I heard it was.
