Roseau (4-1) @ Moorhead (3-0) 12-15-09
Making the 200 mile trek to Moorhead to play a game that is usually between to top 10 teams, Roseau would like to establish themselves as the team to beat in 8AA.

He won't get a 4th straight hat trick!HardF1 wrote:The rams will take this one. Pretty sure Knochenmus has 3 straight hat tricks.. We will see what Roseau is made of after this

The spuds have to find a way to contain Knochemus and Omdahl. This is going to be a great game but containing that Roseau first line is key. There quick and move the puck really well. They crash the net and do everything a good offense does. I don't know much about Moorhead but am expecting quite a battle between these two 8AA rivals.
before the season started i was thinking the rams may have a tuff go at it this year. After watching the first 5 games i believe this rams team is going to be tuff to beat. the big guns are getting it done on the score board and their all working really hard thats the key. the coaching staff is doing a great job! its alot of fun watching these boys play and their the best show in town right now.

I totally agree. These teams have gone back and forth in the past, even when one team is better and should win convincingly (on paper), the opposite happens. This year I think they are pretty equal. However the game is in Moorhead and that is an incredibly difficult place to play...especially when it is packed with orange. As much as I don't want to say it, the spuds might take this one.SPUDNUT Posted: Mon Dec 14, 2009 6:13 pm Post subject:

Won't make any predictions - been fooled too many times.
These two have given us MANY hours of good entertainment over the years - wouldn't miss it ! Hopefully I can talk smart when its over.

My Gramps says Chase is too young to compare to his padre Neal. He also said Derian is no potential Dustin. Did you notice all the Erickson's on the rams roster?HockeyMN1 wrote:So this Chase Broten kid is part of THE Broten family right? He is on varsity as a freshman so I assume he is pretty good, but is he special like his dad (whichever one it is)

Anybody also listening to the game?
Go Rams and my cuz Adam!

Looks like they contained them, but guess what they are not the only ones on the team, rams prove they are a pretty deep team win 4-1gophers101 wrote:The spuds have to find a way to contain Knochemus and Omdahl. Doug Hagen of FollowThePuck.com did some checking and found that Chase Broten's father is a cousin of Neal-Aaron-Paul. This would make Chase a second cousin to any of the children of N-A-P.2nd string wrote:Chase is like a 3rd cousin to the Broten Boys, i think his dad played back in the like 86-87-88 I saw him play in Bantams (Chase) He is ok!

This was a fun game to watch. I thought the Spuds outplayed Roseau and had the better chances in the 1st period (they outshot Roseau in each period too), they just didn't bury their chances when they had them. At least 3 of Roseau's 4 goals looked to be screens or deflections from my vantage point. The game was much closer than the score would indicate, especially since Roseau got 3 of their goals in the 3rd period.
If these 2 play in the section title game again for the umpteenth consecutive time, it should be another good one.
As a sidenote, when the Spuds got their one goal, it looked to me like the refs probably could have blown the play dead before the puck went in since there was a big pileup right in the Roseau goal when it went in. I don't know how the ref didn't lose sight of the puck.
