I would like to see the Gold division move to Aldrich. It is a pain parking downtown during day games and even if you by a tournament pass, it is not good for games not played at the X.

Atmosphere?

Post by Mr Hockey »

Unless things have changed greatly. Watching a game in Duluth is like watching a game with the volume turned off on the TV. When the referee blows his whistle...Nothing...No music...just the sound of the doors opening and closing when the players go in and out. Hopefully things have changed. Atmosphere is not the word of choice I thought of when I watched Elk River play Duluth East at the DECC. Do they have music and more atmoshere at the Heritage Center? I don't know but hopefully so.

The Schwan Cup doesn't get many fans for the winter tournament because virtually every school in the state is in a sports tournament at that time...Boys Basketball...Girls Basketball...Swimming...Wrestling...Gymnastics...Skiing...and I am sure there are more...You can not go to the Excel and watch a hockey game if your basketball team is playing in Worthington or wherever.

The State tournament is great as most people can go. I still think that scheduling could be tweaked for all spring sports so that all in each school would have a chance to go to at least watch the Section final for every spring sport.

I believe not too many volleyball teams or soccer teams play during the football playoff dates. Let's do some better scheduling for the winter sports teams as well.

Anyone know what the schedule beyond the first day is? Which games will be televised/have audio online and where?

Thanks

Here's a bracket view of the Gold division, you can select the other divisions in the drop down box at the top:

As far as televised games, the FSN schedule says they're going to be showing the Minnetonka vs. Holy Angels game and the White Bear Lake vs. St Thomas game.

I'm not sure about audio coverage for the other games though.
