Got Some!!! Very observant of you... I DID, right after my post of who should we name the blind squirrel, Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles, but I removed the score, because I said earlier in the thread that I was not allowed to make predictions until we play Hastings or East Ridge.

Holy crap!!! I took an old man nap when the score was 1-1, only to wake up and see this..

As I have stated before, we needed the ELITE I players to show their worth, and by golly, they did today.

Kudos to the Bears... AHA just got emBEARassed!!!

I shall name this blind squirrel - Stevie Wonder...

You hit that right fan8!! :o

Upon further review I DID make my clairvoyant post near the end of the WBL v STA 12/28 thread after I said we will "right this ship".

So, for all you fans with SUPERSTITION, it's written in EBONY and IVORY, we shall now proclaim Coach Sager as "SIR DUKE" for his leadership.

It doesn't matter who we play next game... 7-1 Bears!!!

Totally overrated team at this point. Maybe the Missota is the right conference for this team...

I am on this bandwagon right now. I normally will not write anything bad about my team, but yes they were embarrasing. They did not have any fire, will to play or desire in my book.
I am not a coach or affiliated with any player on this team but I can honestly say it appeared as though no one wants to play.
Don't take it wrong, WBL took it to them today and deserved the win. I need to see my team step up and play the way they are capable of.
Over-rated, not really. Teams don't always play the way they should and I am sure they will bounce back.

Oh and Skipperville, remember you are coming to STARSVILLE next Thursday and I know that the game will be better than yesterday and the STARS will be better than they looked today.

Congrats to WBL, have fun tomorrow with Hill.....If Hill wins. When I left today it was 3 - 0.

I wouldn't go as far as stating WBL gave it to them... The shots were close, which means play was faily even... WBL has struggled to make things happen with their ELITE I players, and they responded today.

As an AHA fan, one would understand that after a deflating loss versus Tonka, that it would be tough to "get up" to play a game against WBL, after WBL just got waxed 7-0. However, it should be noted that when there are only 25 games, it better not be hard to get up for any game.

As I have stated on more than one occasion, WBL needs to score 4 goals to win games versus these quality teams, and they did just that.

AHA has enough talent to rebound... so.. keep one foot on the bandwagon, Zamman

So Zamman, I didn't get to see the game, but one question comes to mind. Are these Riley kids really worthy of a scholarship to the U? Both, one or the either?

Although it seems the Reillys score a majority of the goals for Holy Angels, I really wasn't that impressed with them yesterday. I was very surprised earlier in the year when I heard they got scholarships from the U, and my thoughts were justified when I watched them yesterday vs. Tonka. Given Tonka did have three D1 defenders matched up against them at various points in the game, they really didn't stand out at all.

Skipper v. StarHawks rematch

Post by blueblood »

Zamman -

The Skips will be ready to play against Chaska East, I mean AHA.

I expect more from the StarHawks in the rematch, but it won'e be enough as Burke will get lit up like a xmas tree again...

Sure the Reilley's are deserving of a scholarship. Look at the rest of the players at the U. Someone needs to be there and help them out and I think they will do well as long as they go and play a year or two in the juniors. They are both very skilled, not the biggest, but that never means anything.

Now, now star, just bcuz i'm from tonka doesn't mean that i'm always right.

But 4 now, tonka is on a roll and I will be the first to admit if and when they fall off their perch.

Can anyone confirm the gardiner injury that was reported on another topic....

HUGE win for the Bears. Way to come out firing and avenging that 7-0 embarrassment from yesterday. Wahlin and Birkinbine stepping up and scoring goals is a must for WBL success.

The game against HM should be another very tough game, and I hope the Bears can make it a better game than we saw on FSN, which they were completely dominated.
GO BEARS, and break the 11 game streak!

Rumor has it that the problem with this team is that it is designed to showcase the Riley brothers and therefore has no team chemistry. There is talent onthis team so it will be interesting to see what happens.

AHA

Post by blueblood »

I have been a big critic of AHA, but IMO there's really no need to showcase the Reilly's at this point.

The 2 seniors have their U of M papers in hand and the youngest is sure to go there too.

They are good players, but IMO not players who will be able to contribute CONSISTENLY in the WCHA. That's where Lucia is missing the boat.

In four years they were at Chaska, Breck, BSM and AHA. You missed the point. It was designed for them to be showcased from the moment they went to AHA and yes it is very important for it to continue. You don't understand the politics of hockey if you don't understand that. I have been watching HS hockey for over 30 plus years now and it is the kids that get showcased early that get scouted and recruited and it isn't always the best players either. Time will tell with these young players. Wish them the best and hope it works for the Gophers.
