I'll have to go with Tonka on this one even without Gardiner. This should be, IMO, the best game of the year yet. But that's just my opinion.

I am going with Tonka.

However, Edina is playing good team hockey. The Hornets, as usual are a physical team. Certainly, they are capable of upsetting the Skippers.

This is not a slam dunk considering the history of the rivalry and that Edina is nothing close to a slouch. I like MHS but wouldn't be surprised to see Edina win this game. Either way it should make a great setup for the 2 conference games.

There is a link on the tourney website, but it's a pay per view deal I think.

No disrespect to Prochno or Hesketh from Tonka, but Justin Holl was absolutely outstanding tonight. For a guy who apparently had a reputation of not being an offensive defenseman, he had absolutely two phenominal goals.. One in which from the Def spot, he pinched all the way to the back door side of the net and one-timed a beauty of a pass, right thru the top of the crease on a PP...... and another goal where he just used his speed, control and leverage to crash the net, and beat Ankeny, who was pretty solid in goal for Edina. Holl created quite a few scoring chances, and played solid defense.

Tonka's Schutt absolutely sniped Ankeny for the game-winning goal....

Edina's Ben Walker did a wrap-around, and was patient and beat Tonka goalie Kruger over his top shoulder, short-side to put Edina up 2-1, and I thought Edina was ready for the upset, but Tonka just turned it up.

Both top lines were neutralized, and although Tonka showed in can win without Max Gardiner, it seems like it may take awhile for that line to regroup and gel. Edina did a great job of keeping Coatta in check... he didn't have the puck on his stick very much.

I walked away thinking Tonka still was the better team, but not by much. I believe Edina is capable of beating Tonka in the rematch. However, Edina will need to get some more pressure from the Taft line..

I just took a look at Minnetonka's schedule and they play stillwater tomorrow. Hope they aren't too high on the Schwann Cup victory as they could see a closer game than they expected. I'm not saying they will lose but I can see this being closer than it should be.

I don't see why they would overlook Stillwater - imho they bring in a very good team and should not be taken for granted.

It came down to defensemen, and Tonka's we're much better top to bottom. Difference in the game I thought.

Hornets win

My two cents, I felt that Edina had a more sustained effort while Tonka had better opportunities. I see the Hornets winning a rematch. Time will tell. It was a great finish to the Schwann Cup any way you slice it.

Or they get their arses kicked which is the most likely scenario.
