Yes the first time was not a good game by the STARS and yes they were struggling. But today they play at home, game will be different. AHA pulls the upset 4 - 2 EN.

Tonka has played the most difficult schedule in the state over the past 2+ weeks and this is their 6th game in 11 days. They looked like they may have lost a step against EP in periods 2 & 3 so even though I think they're 3-4 goals better than AHA on most days the grind may be getting to them.

Tonka may also be looking past AHA as a team they've beaten previously and looking ahead to Duluth East on Sat so this may be the one chance AHA has to pull an upset.

I'm not saying Tonka will lose but it wouldn't surprise me.

Even though the score was worse this time around. AHA played much better, but I have to say Minnetonka is a damn good team. They are big, fast and attack everywhere. They are well coached and their D is second to none. Look for them to wear the crown this year.

Zamman-Agreed. And a warning to future Tonka opponents: Don't get a penalty against this team. I'd love to see stats on their power play. In the games I've seen, even with Gardiner gone, they seem to find a way to get it done.

I coulda swore I heard their PP was over 30%, like 35% or something..

Tonka lost a D for the entire 3rd period as Hesketh never skated that period so often there was one or two 10th graders out there which did lead to a number of opportunities for AHA that period. Word was that Hesketh got sick between periods so it's not an injury issue.

One thing not yet mentioned is how well Kruger played as AHA could've got back into the game many times but he stopped nearly everything thrown his way. The first AHA goal was when Tonka got caught with 3rd line against AHA 1st line and the 2nd was as a PP was expiring, both were good goals.

And their PK is even more impressive--2/55. (96.36%)

Something my Hounds would do well to keep in mind tomorrow.
