Dude, I would have lost it if I was Pauly. I didn't see a lot of the game, but what I did see was flagrant slashing and late hits.....I also saw three guys ignore the puck and try to rape BSM's #12. A team shouldn't have to play their third and fourth lines to coast out of a game because of a risk of danger on the ice. SLP has one kid with over 60 minutes in penalties this year ---- my guess is he took a bundle again tonight. He shouldn't be playing if he is dangerous and can't control himself.
So don't rip Pauly. As a Panther fan, you should ask what style of hockey was being played that caused this colossol embarrassment to the game.
Next door....it was like night and day. Two teams battling. Clean, fast hockey. Both teams knowing a penalty would cook their goose. Contrary, SLP seemed to wear their penalties like a badge of honor....especially the three that got kicked out (I had a flashback to the movie slapshot when the Hanson's got tossed!).

People need to realize that these kids are in high school and when things don't go their way they get angry and things get out of hand. A coach should never say a word to opposing players, that is terrible. What is worse is SLP's coach and the refs not taking charge and cleaning this game up.
My thoughts exactly. We should all remember that the boys out on the ice are immature High School kids. Tempers are going to get flared, and it is inexcusable for the coach of either team to yell at, and threaten a player on the other team. I've only heard good things about Pauly up until now, but it is never alright to yell at a kid on the other team.
And I don't see how anybody could just single out the Panthers, because Benilde was just as cheap, and chippy as SLP. Benilde was chirping after every little thing throughout most of the game, and towards the end, the 3rd and 4th liners for Benilde were cheap.
Pauly was put into a tough position. He has to protect his team. What do you do when the other team is out to hurt your players? When the ref blows the whistle, it's too late. At least in the pro game, fighting takes care of this BS. SLP has some nice players and a few bad apples. The same bad apples that were out hacking opposing players in back in Peewees and Bantams.
Benson should be embarrassed as a coach. Control your players. Bench them, short shift, do whatever it takes to send the message that this BS is not to be tolerated. Playing the kids that can actually skate wouldn't hurt either.

Actually he could have easily controlled one of them and he wouldn't have to worry about his dad getting mad, unless he yelled at himself in the mirror

Wait, so the dirtiest player in MN hockey....#6, is the coach's kid? The coach needs to detach himself from taking care of his kid, and doing what is right for the team. Virtually any other team would have a kid who has racked up the penalty minutes that this kid has booted off the roster...or at least spending time in JV purgatory.
Here are just a few of his highlights from this year where he has racked up 70 minutes in penalties (per MNhockeyhub) in 14 games:
vs Robbinsdale Cooper
2 for slashing
2 for slashing
2 for elbowing
2 for slashing
2 for slashing
vs Princeton
2 for slashing
2 for slashing
vs Cambridge/Isanti
2 for slashing
2 for interference
vs East Ridge
2 for hooking
2 for elbowing
4 for roughing
vs St. Mark's
2 for cross checking
2 for charging
vs Park Rapids
2/10 checking from behind
2 for slashing
vs Irondale
2 for highsticking
2 for slashing
vs BSM
2 for roughing
2 for cross checking
2 min for holding
2 min for tripping
2 for holding
At what point does MSHSL have to step in when the coach has his blinders on because it is his kid and the team plays a dangerous brand of hockey as a result?

Real dirty players dont get called for penalties. Benson is a tool though..dad has disconnect with reality with him.
