Lourdes should have beat Mason City IA. Mason city made a game out of it once they decided to play physical.

Lourdes top line 7-17-9 all seniors average line #7 is the line.
2nd line 3-20-4 young line could not compete once it got physical.
3rd line 2-23-6 only line that threw a check.

St. Cloud Cath game will show what lourdes has this year.

1. Faribault- team to beat early
2. Lourdes- I think they will figure it out and turn things around
3. Northfield- lookin good early
4. New Prague- next in line
5. Albert Lea- they always improve as the year goes on
6. Red wing- section starts to get weaker here
7. Mankato west- weaker this year
8. Mankato east- could move ahead of west..?
9. Waseca- lost to Albert Lea early in the year.
10. Lescenter?
11. Austin..

It's pretty early to think about seeding teams in 1A because there a bunch of teams really close and a bunch of key games left to be played.

Northfield beat Lourdes but lost to Albert Lea and Faribault and have to play New Prague twice still. Faribault beat Northfield and New Prague but still has to play Lourdes and Albert Lea. Albert Lea still has Lourdes, Red Wing, Faribault, West twice and East. Lourdes lost to Red Wing and Northfield beat New Prague and still has AL, West, NP, and Faribault. Red Wing beat Lordes but still has 5 section games remaining.

I think any one of the group of Albert Lea, Faribault, Lourdes, New Prague, Northfield, and Red Wing could be the top seed. None have done enough to warrant being firmly behind or ahead of anyone else in that group of 6 because there are so many intrasectional games yet to be played.

Tommorrow there a couple of real key 1A games: Albert Lea at Lourdes and New Prague at Red Wing, both of those will start the sorting out process to seperate the top 6 teams.

Looks like it's shaking out just like everybody thought it would. Basically, Faribault is still the front runner, and everybody else is scratching and clawing for seeds 2-8. The way it stands today:

1. Faribault. 3-0 in section (wins over New Prague, Mankato West, and Northfield). Still have to play East, Albert Lea, & Lourdes.
2. Red Wing. 3-0 (wins over New Prague, Northfield, & Lourdes). Still play New Prague, Northfield, Albert Lea.
3. Lourdes. 2-2 (wins over NP & AL, losses to RW & Northfield). Still play East, Faribault, NP, & West.
4. New Prague. 3-3 (wins over East, West, & AL, losses to Lourdes, Faribault, & RW). Still play Northfield 2x, RW, & Lourdes.
5. Albert Lea. 3-2 (wins over Northfield, Waseca, West, losses to NP & Lourdes). Still play RW, Faribault, West, East, & Austin.
6. Northfield. 1-3 (win over Lourdes, losses to AL, Faribault, & RW). Still play NP twice, RW, & West.
7. Mankato West. 1-3 (win over East, losses to NP, Faribault, & AL). Still play Austin 2x, AL, Northfield, & Lourdes.
8. Mankato East. 3-2 (wins over Austin & Waseca 2x, losses to West & NP). Still play Faribault, Lourdes, Austin & AL.

It looks like Red Wing, Lourdes, New Prague, Albert Lea & Northfield have all been beating each other up and there are still plenty of games left between these teams. The 2 Mankato teams are definitely capable of pulling an upset come sections. Faribault has some decent wins, but have lost to some common opponents that other 1a teams have beaten. They are definitely not a lock to represent this section at the Show.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... it's gonna be one heck of a sectional playoff. Literally anything can happen and any one of these teams could come out on top if they're playing well and get some puck luck.

YES! I think any of the 2-8 seeds can compete with Faribault.
