Two consensus top ten teams square off for a leg up in the Lake. I'll take EP 4-2 at home, who ya got?

I'd like Eagan to live up to their expectations, but something tells me EP will be ready. Close game no doubt,

My picks will be either:

A. EP-3 EG-1

or

B. EP-1 EG-2

Most likely A, but it depends on if EP shows up to play, or if Eagan does not.
Always celly hard.

I like Eagan to split with EP this year, but I am not sure their win will come at EP. I think it will be a good game I am going to say 3-2 or 4-3 EP. I have not seen EP play yet this year so I dont have alot to go on except scores. I wont be surprised either if Eagan wins, they work extremely hard and play well as a team.

Get out to see a great game of hockey at 3:00pm on Saturday folks. I'll go with a 3-3 tie! How's that for going out on a limb :?

Do you mean to predict that either Eagan or Eden Prairie will win this one, depending on who plays better? I like it.

No more flying under the radar for Eagan, with both teams undefeated in the Lake Conference standings at the halfway mark. The Eagles will be ready and will take down the Cats in a close one.

4-2 w/eng

So, in a nut shell, the team who plays better will win? Bold of you

Both teams have 6 wins, but Eagan has that pesky tie sitting there. So if they split and both win the rest of their Lake games, Eden Prairie will take the conference title.

I like your thinking here HHW and I hope you're right, just not sure the defending champs are going to let Eagan come into their place and get the victory. Should be a good one!

Big youth tournament going on at the EP Community Center this weekend so expect a lot of cars and people so parking could be a challange.

That sounds like a pick HHW would make. But wait, who is the home team.

Here is a bold prediction, regardless of the outcome on Sat, NEITHER team will run the table in the 2nd half and finish undefeated in the Lake Conf!! You can take that one to the bank!! :o

If Eagan loses by 3 or more can we start calling them overrated? :D

I don't think EP's offense has it in them - just saying.

. Eagan has a great young group coming up, but will not beat an EP team this year. They will give a game at Eagan. EP shall win at their home ice. Eagan will be a major team at sections.

Am I the only one who isn't sold in Eagan? They have one quality OT win versus an opponent who has shown the most inconsistency in HS hockey. (Beat Cent. 9-2, then tied Cent./ SO loss; Beat Wayzata 2-1, then tied Burnsville 2-2).

I see other threads where people are putting Eagan in their top five. Congrats on the good start, but this team has done nothing really to impress me. They tied a decent team and pulled off one upset against a top team. How does this put them in the top five?

I'm hoping EP doesn't make me look like a jackass tonight and handles Eagan.

4-1 Final.

Don't know where you've seen Eagan is in the top 5. Considering most polls have EP from 3-5 and Eagan from 6-8, an Eagan win would be an upset, especially at EP. If Eagan keeps it close that will be a win for them just knowing they can play with the best. A victory would be an added bonus and something I'm sure most don't expect.

EP up 6-1 after 2. Kyle Rau has 2 goals and 3 assists including a penalty shot goal, Molenaar had the other goal. EP is clearly the better team and after Eagan scored on their first shot it has been all Eagles. Looks like all you people who were SURE these two teams would split might be feeling the heat

consider me on the list to see how the Eagan faithful takes this one. :D

It was only a matter of time before they got leveled back to reality.

I left with 4 minutes to go and EP went up 7-1 in the beginning of the 3rd period. K Rau 3 goals / 3 assists.

Complete mismatch. Will this diminish HappyHockeyFanatic's enthusiasm for his under appreciated team?

How so? They got beat by a better team. It's very tough to know how good they are, especially after one bad loss. They were ranked by most in the top 15; how does losing to a top 5 team mean they were rated too high?

Jefferson loses to Eagan and people claim it's just a fluke and keep them ranked high. Eagan loses and they're overrated? Hmmm...

Very difficult to know with Eden Prairie and Jefferson being the only top teams left for them, both are home games.

I saw this game and it was a blow out after 5 min. Eagan did not look sharp, they looked like they knew what the outcome was going to be half way thru the first. EP was the better team hands down. The goalie for Eagan did not look like a top 10 goalie either. This is one of the first real tests for them after the Jefferson win. The next few games are going to be a real tough for them now.
