Interesting listening to the Moorhead broadcasters after the game call Tonka and their goals lucky but I guess that's what they're paid to do. Moorhead's only goal was shorthanded when Tonka was changing D and the goalie clearing pass out of the zone was intercepted.[/quote]

Tonka sure has a lotta luck this year!! :D

HM - NSP

Post by stpaul »

North St. Paul 0 1 1 - 2
Hill-Murray 1 3 0 - 4

First Period
HM, Kevin Becker (Charlie Sampair), 15:48.

Second Period
HM, Loren French, 6:11.
NSP, Nick Hinz (Joe Rubbelke), 8:16 (pp).
HM, Jack Walsh (Loren French, Zach LaValle), 14:14 (pp).
HM, Kevin Becker (Ben Bahe), 16:10.

Third Period
NSP, Joe Rubbelke (Zac McCarver), 8:28.

Shots by period
Hill-Murray 16 18 16 - 50
North St. Paul 5 8 7 - 20

HM was playing w/o Willie Faust who had a 1 game suspension for the major penalty vs. Richfield. NSP has some talent. Rubbelke, McCarver and Hinz can play. Toy is a pretty good goalie. He made 46 stops. He left a lot of rebounds out front and HM took advantage. Rubbelke's goal put North in the game with 8-1/2 left but NSP did their usual headhunting the last 5 minutes instead of trying for the win. Same old undisciplined Jerry Diebel hockey.

Other CSC scores:
STA 6, SSP 2
Mahtomedi 7, Simley 2
Tartan 4, Sibley 1

From what I saw, Hill Murray seemed to be ones instigating the headhunting the last few minutes of the game. Jordan Johnson totally laid out #29 from North with a hit right to his head - #29 got up, retaliated and got called for the penalty. A short time after that, Walsh laid out #27 from North with a shot to the head at mid ice - again no penalty was called.
