Easily 5 or more goals. Won't be much of a game.

Agreed. Shattuck has far too much talent for breck to keep up with. Although shattucks goaltending can be a little spotty... so I'd say breck gets a couple. Shattuck is gonna take it to them though, and the whole school (roughly 400 kids.. ) will be there to cheer them on... Anyways I predict 7-2 final for SSM.

Mustangs are a decisive underdog for sure but no way they lose by 8. It's really hard to put a number on it as Breck hasn't played anyone in a while and Shattuck hasn't played a High School team yet. I'd put the pregame spread @ 3.5-4. I'll also go on a limb and say the game will be as close or closer than what either BSM or HA do against them.

It's going to be tough for all three teams with serious home ice advantage and local refs that likely aren't going to give any breaks to a perceived infeirior city school team.

It should be good fun anyway!

I agree with the BSM and AHA comments. But shattucks ref are far from homer. They are usually from either the cities, or Faribo.. so most of the time they hate shattuck.

Wait a minute. I remember when my kids team went down there and had a 1 goal lead. The refs gave Shattuck a PP with 2 1/2 minutes left. When that didn't do it, they gave them a 5 on 3 with just over a minute left. The game ended in a tie.

The next day, the bears beat them by two staight up. I remember talking to Grandma and Grampa Montgomery in the stands and them telling me..."My son pays $27k per year for this!" Hearing that made me laugh all the way home.

It was their AAA team, which puts the Prep team well over Breck, in my opinion.

6-1 Shattuck, easy win.

well brecks been rolling through everyone they play and they are good, but playing probably the best "high school " team in the country is a little unmatched.. 8-3 SSM

That was a pretty big fluke though! SSM goalie played quite bad if i do remember and shattuck outshot them terribly

BSM beat SSM I think 3 years ago, but yes BSM was outshot badly and needed great goaltending and a good dose of luck to win. What these upsets show is that anything is possible...still SSM should be heavily favored and will probably win by at least 4 goals.

I was at that game. Shattuck just played terribly. They are a completely different team year in and year out. Only Juniors and Seniors, with the very occasional Sophomore (sidney crosby, okposo, jordy murray), so they go through players really quickly there. They vary a lot year to year in talent. They are always very good, but like I said, their goaltending is rather spotty, and right now their goalies are struggling with some issues, so it could be an interesting game. They were beatable that year, and they could be this year.. However; this year its on shattuck ice, they've already played some 40 games, and they are just all around more talented from top to bottom.

They won nationals i believe the year they lost to AHA. Weren't so much beatable just a bad game by them. But this year the team is totally different then there past teams, but i still think they will win by at least 5[/quote]
