Re: Section 8A
The question was can, not will. Did anyone think Burnsville would go to state three years ago? No; EGF can win this section and if they can upset again they could even have a higher seed than Warroad...really they control their own destiny right now.TTpuckster wrote:Can a snowball survive in Hell?Shot and Goal wrote:Can EGF win this section
NO! NO! NO!
But no, it will be the Warriors or the Prowlers at state this year.

This would have you assuming TRF will be the #2 seed, which I think is a really big assumption. We'll see after tonight.SargeyWargey09 wrote:Can EGF win.....Is that a serious question?
No they cannot win, there going to lose to TRF in the Semi's
Warroad off to State, their first line is to much for anyone in section 8
A and AA haha!!
Re: Section 8A
Sure they can, they already beat Warroad....if they can somehow figure out how that worked, who knows????Shot and Goal wrote:Can EGF win this section

EGF needs to play TRF twice yet and Warroad one more time.
I'm not even convinced they can beat Crox.
It looks like TRF & Warroad battling for the #1 spot in my eyes.

Re: Section 8A
I dunno if I'd be willing to bet my house on it again. I'm around. Been catchin' a few games lately - PR has a big one vs. DL on Saturday. Gonna go check those Coborn boys out. Mr. Lane had a hat trick the last time these 2 played.TTpuckster wrote:schwang17 wrote:nice to see ya again, TT.TTpuckster wrote: Can a snowball survive in Hell?

I'd say it is a big deal. If TRF gets the #1 seed it is because they beat EGF twice and Warroad didn't. Depending on how EGF does the second time, Warroad and EGF should be the 2 and 3 seeds, which would mean TRF could end up playing EGF in the finals.upnorthhockey1 wrote:TRF is control of the 1 seed. Two wins over EGF and they will be #1. Not that big of a deal though as really it only means they will get last change and wear white against Warroad in the finals. No EGF can not win this section. Sorry Wave fans!
2001 was the last year Warroad didn't make it to the finals in 8A...

anybody can win. look at mahtomedi over st thomas last year in there sections. after watching last nights game, it just does not matter who wins, because who ever makes it will get run over by one of the top 3 in the state, warroad has no defense, and only 1 line of offense clearly TRF has no offense, that was a tell that 7 to 0 beatdown hermantown gave trf in dec.

kinda miss bemidji in this section....no not their lack of discipline on the ice, 8aa folks can take advantage of that. But not having Bemidji here means no Elliot, and he was many times the only one who actually gave some thought to his opinions on this section. EGF? PR? Everyone might as well just pick their favorite team to win the section.

I think sections are won by goalies and that means TRF.
If Warroad is 100% their first line could win it for them.
EGF has changed something because when I saw them early they were bad - of course they were not 100% then either.
The way they are playing now I think they have a chance.
LOW and Crookston just do not have enough depth to win three in a row.
Park Rapids would be an interesting choice and would give a boost to the smaller norhtern programs - so they are my dark horse pick. And they have a strong D man and a good first line - coaching would have to be big part of getting to the final game and the other players would have to step up, but once in the final game anything could happen - jus tlook at the Saints.
