Ooh, you did go to the Dark Side, didn't you? Let me guess, they had cookies...Goldfishdude wrote:Nice win for my H-M buddies, and my new FAVORITE team!!! It's amazing the production coming from the young guys like Sampair and LaValle!!
For you AHA fans, you have to be encouraged by the play of Burke in nets tonight. 28 saves. If he can be this consistent, you might have a chance come sections.

Nice win (finally) over AHA, but it wasn't pretty. The Pioneers seem to be struggling right now & Lex let em have it a few time during the game. The lines appeared to have been juggled and maybe they are just trying to mesh. The D did not have a great night. Shaughnessy played real well & the goals he "gave up" were rockets off of D turnovers. The one thing Hill is not lacking is effort. The kids played hard, especially in the offensive corners. Keep working boys.
As for AHA, I was impressed by their top line and the play of a few of the 9th graders. I thought they played right with Hill tonight & could have easily have won the game. Lack of depth may be a concern come sections, but they could surprise.
It was nice to see the majic of the black jerseys is still alive!

I have to agree with most of this reply, but the STARS were not playing a complete game. They can still do better, bu they are playing better.Pioneerprideguy wrote:Nice win (finally) over AHA, but it wasn't pretty. And to clarify, AHA was rolling three lines for most of the game.
As for the injuries, they are correct. But i spoke to one of the kids and they should be back next week.

Yer killing me Goldy!!! AHA came to play. Anyone taking these guys lightly will come out on the loosing end. Well coached and tons of heart. Scoring chances where pretty even and so where the shots. Looks like both teams will be peaking as they go into the final 1/3 of the season.Goldfishdude wrote:Nice win for my H-M buddies, and my new FAVORITE team!!! Good win for the Pioneers, finally breaking the losing streak that stretches back to a State Tournament showdown. Both teams can build on this one.

Absolutely... AHA's Burke's performance came as a surprise to me... In some of the bigger games, he has given up 6 goals three times.H-M's goalie's performance doesn't.... Shaughnessy has been rock solid in the big games this year, but it's a given - now.... It's like Kobe Bryant scoring 40 pts in a Lakers game.. Ho hum!!!kcusseinop wrote:Yer killing me Goldy!!! Sometimes, just as in the youngsters for H-M are producing like Sampair, Lavalle, they need to get a little extra notice. It's just a given now the Bahe's, Casto's, Shaughnessy's, etc of the Pioneer Nation have their normal consistent solid, if not spectacular, game..

Agreed. Things will now get very interesting heading into sections. The Bears will be well rested and waiting in the wings with something to prove. Don't overlook that crew. As always, most of the pressure will ride on the goal tending and defense. We are in for quite a ride in the next couple of weeks.Goldfishdude wrote:Absolutely... With your ponies coming up big tonight there is added spice in the stew as well.
