Sorry to the kids that should have been there. The ugly side to MN hockey is politics...
So who should have been there?
Politics? I know what a crock that Bjugstad's Uncle got him a spot in this.
She has Stillwater HS captians on from many sports every year. You guys lead pretty boring lives if 3 kids on a small Stillwater AM radio station for 7 minutes is that big of a deal.

I don't get what you guys aren't getting. Wilson contended with every high school player in the competition. He scored on the shootout, did very well in the rapid fire, and is one of the leading scorers in the SEC. Another ugly side to MN hockey is punishing a good hockey player because his dad tore you guys apart when he played.

I saw the videos on the site and thought that the selection of the other athletes was fair. On a more positive note, IMHO the Hopkins jersey Fons was wearing is my favorite HS jersey ever. Great tribute to the Nordiques.
Pretty obvious that I was talking about the one.
It's just that when you wrote "kids," I thought you were referring to the fact that there were other players at the skills competition that shouldn't have been there.
How does it feel to tear into a kid who has done nothing but play the game and play it well. What do you want him to do not play? You guys are absoluetly ridiculous, like gophs said he scored in the shootout and did well in the rapid fire. He is at the top of the list of scorers when it comes to the sec and has more talent than anyone posting on the thread. I suspect that the jealously felt of you hockey dads is surfacing as you witnessed your son come up short time after time in regards to the elite leaugue and high school hockey. Get over the bitterness of watching a kid play hockey who is better than your kid and enjoy the game. You wonder why people complain time after time about politics. You guys are the ones who create the poltical agenda in hockey and you are the ones who keep fueling the fire. If kids are good enough to play they play and if they can score they score. Wilson can play and he score.end of discussion.
Wow, Brunette is a natural in front of the Camera. I think the guy could take over for Leno when he finally hangs it up (probably about when Brett Favre retires)

Have to agree about the disgusting politics. Especially regarding Bjugstad. A lot of great players out there who don't get to see the light of day. He's definitely good, but definitely wouldn't be where he is today if he didn't have the last name 'Bjugstad' A lot of his success is him riding off his uncle's success. Problem with kids like him is that they let it go to their head and become big headed. I think he needs to come back to down to earth a bit. He's not in the big leagues just yet.
Have you ever talked to "big headed Bjugstad" didn`t think so...have you ever watched him play...didn`t think so,he is one of the most "down to earth" kids you`ll ever meet. He doesn`t go around with his nose in the air...ever. Known him for a very long time,he is one of the nicest kids you`ll ever meet. I think your jealousy is quite obvious, get over yourself and give the kid the cudos he deserves,he`s worked very hard to get were he is.

Agreed Pride, obviously having the last name Bjugstad doesn't hurt, but he has got to be the most humble kid for how talented he is. Never will he brag about himself, and he is a probable Mr. Hockey candidate, so Jefferson, how could you say he was there because of politics or his last name? He scored the most goals in the rapid fire out of anyone, as well as scored in the shootout. The kid is a great player, end of story.
