Of those two, Stillwater is playing better as of late.

Woodbury still controls their own destiny in the conference.
Cretin is in an interesting situation. If they win out, which would include beating Woodbury, they would tie for 1st if Woodbury doesn't lose.
Stillwater, WBL and Forest Lake are all 7-3, SW and FL with two ties, WBL with one.

I believe they will both in top 3, but I wouldn't discount Woodbury either. Woodbury has two fewer losses than both Stilly, WBL and CDH... Forest Lake has just two losses.

Woodbury and Stilly each have played 12 games, with Woodbury having 4 more points, and the head-to-head advantage. CDH, FLake and WBL each have 11 games, and could be 2 or 3 pts behind.

As of now in head-to-head advantage:

Both Woodbury, by virtue of W and T, and CDH, with split and goal differential, have a SEC conference edge vs Stillwater. WBL has also defeated Stilly.

WBL has beaten CDH, lost to Woodbury and FLake
FLake has tied both Woodbury and CDH and beat WBL...

FLake had a bad bad bad 1-0 loss to Roseville last night.

I still feel Woodbury has the edge.

If a Woodbury player gets that midas touch they could get it rolling just in time. 3 of the goals were fluky ones last night but they went in. Gaede had no points, you can see the frustration in his play. Defense played tough in 2nd and 3rd.

I think the finish will look like this
#1 - Woodbury - six left should win all, closing out with WBL and CDH
#2 - CDH - should go 4-2 at worst to finish
#3 - Stillwater - finish with WBL and Flake at home
#4 - Flake - next 4 in a row are tough Wdby, WBL, CDH and Still they finish 4-4
#5 - WBL - 3 tough games on the road, see a 3-3-1 finish
#6 - Mounds View - 2-4 finish could play spoiler for a few, big Section game with NSP to finish
#7 - Roseville - (Sorry forgot) got thier upset last night won't surprise anyone above rest of the season
#8 - Hastings - 2-4 finish
#9 - Park - 2-4 maybe 3-3 to finish
#10 - East Ridge - physically taking a toll, no chance for the 1st conference win

Woodbury has excellent talent in those juniors and seniors, but that East Ridge split has really hurt the team, I could see that last night. They could really use some of the limited shifts they would be giving to young Hyland and Halbert and a few others who are all at ER now.

The split essentially took away the majority of the excitement from their Sophomore pool they would have had.

I like your take, Youngie, based on how I noted the head-to-heads Stillwater has had, but I feel that there will be a minor blip, whether that means WBL defeats CDH again, or a Woodbury loss, and I still would not count out your Ponies for #2.... But, I agree with FLake 4 and WBL 5, but the loss by FLake to Roseville will be what makes WBL flip-flop.

I still don't discount MV making a push for 5th.

I definitely agree that wdbry technically has the edge and if they can continue to play at a level in which they showed in the third period of last nights game they should have no problem maintaining the 1 spot,it might just be a hunch, but it seems that the lack of solid performances by Gaede could come back and really bite hoodbury, or he can just be due for a solid stretch of games that he is capable of which would secure the hoodlums 1 spot. The bottom of the barrel teams are just that with exception to park who i think can play and even bigger spoiler than mv(who lacks any sort of consistancy).flake is tough and with a solid finish could surprise the sec with a number 2 finish. All in all heres how it will play out(in my world)

1 hoodbury(barely)
2 stilly
3 cdh
4 wbl
5 flake
6 park
7 mv
8 roseville
9 need i say

Juniors? Woodbury currently has ONE junior playing on the varsity.

Wow, I didn't realize that. I remember seeing their roster and I thought there were a few juniors in there. Well, I guess this is their year-do or die.

With Forest Lake's big win over Woodbury, and WBL, Stillwater, and CDH with a win just makes everything tighter.... Now Forest lake holds the tie-breaker over Woodbury in the head-to-head.

Personally, I am happy for Forest Lake to be making some noise in the SEC!!

I heard the refs were pretty ridiculous in this game and a couple fans got in a scrap.

Perhaps the worst officiated game ever with a ref physically pulling a Woodbury player to the ice by his helmet and then physically shoving him off of the ice from behind. THAT is NEVEr acceptable regardless of how they feel.....

The other junior playing varsity, Turner, was injured for the rest of the season against Park. While I still believe Woodbury has the top-to-bottom talent advantage in the conference, the advantage is small. It's been rumored by some that the players think they're a bunch of all-stars, which is really too bad.

Ok, let's not go and give our fellow hot-headed hockey parents a worse name than they deserve.

We've all been there, and done that... to one degree or another over the years. Its like driving by the scene of a nasty car accident. We rubber-neck in horror, half-thinking that could never be us. All the while, knowing full-well in the back of our dark recesses, that it absolutely could be... under the right circumstances.
