On paper this should be an easy win for the Red Knights, but if games were played on paper, the Spuds would've lost their last game. Should be a good AA match up.

While it might seem like the Spuds are playing better as of late, my skeptical side tells me to wait and see yet.
If you look at their last 2 games, yes they've scored 15 goals, but 9 of those were scored on a bad St. Cloud Tech team and the other 6 against Roseau could be chalked up to wanting a bit of revenge for the loss to the Rams last month.
It was about this time last year when the Spuds started putting things together, so maybe the same could be going on now. Only time will tell and the back-to-back games against Benilde and Centennial on Friday and Saturday will be a good gauge.

On paper? Since when did this come into play? Really on paper Edina should have won last year against the Spuds in the State Quarter Final right.....? Last year at this time the Spuds were 8-8-1, this year they are 7-6-2 with games against Benilde, Jefferson, Centnnial, and Hill. I think last year the Spuds surprised the entire State by winning at state much less playing in the State Championship. Sure they lost again, but really i was just happy they won the section. The same goes for this year. Year in and year out the Spuds play one of the strongest schedules and travel the most miles to play the competition. Many will say its hard on the team, I for one enjoy playing teams like Minnetonka, Wayzata, Duluth East ect. I would rather see them play top ranked teams than to play a section\conference team two times and beat them in running time.HShockeywatcher wrote:On paper this should be an easy win for the Red Knights, but if games were played on paper, the Spuds would've lost their last game. So tell me why would the spuds lost their last game on paper? (Roseau) is it because Roseau has a won loss record of 14-2 or something like that? Or is it because they beat the Spuds 4-1 in the early Dec?
I would love to see the Spuds play well this weekend, I expect the games to be close. Moorhead is scheduled to play 5 games starting Friday in the next 8 days. I think this will be an indication of how they should be judged.......not on paper.

The "but if games were played on paper" is me saying they are not played on paper buddy. Anything can happen. Moorhead always plays good hockey and has a shot at every game they play.Potatohead9 wrote:On paper? Since when did this come into play? Cliche, cliche
See I told you CitySputnikGuy! Take it one game at a time, the rest takes care of itselfLoveHockey wrote:The Warroad game is rescheduled for Thursday Feb 11th.

Good grief - A person can't even ask a legitimate question trying to get some information without some Putz getting his ass in an uproar ! Maybe you oughta stick to JV.northwoods oldtimer wrote:See I told you CitySputnikGuy! Just having fun with the whole one game at a time cliche'. I think the cityspudsGuy 'meerhead' fan understands it is all in jest as in nothing negative about focusing on the BSM game. You are kind of wound too tight there 'SputnikNut'. Try to have a nice day and make sure to drive careful on those icy windswept roads. Two hands on the wheel

Spuds
Despite the 2 tater fans anger I will pick the Spuds over BSM Red Knights 4-2. Bonus game: Warroad Warriors over the Spuds 3-2 shocker.

Re: Spuds
Not likely... the Spuds already beat those Warriors from Brainerd 6-0 this season.blueline1 wrote:THe Spuds could get beat by 2 Warrior teams that week.
As for the game tonight, I'll say 4-2 for BSM. Prove me wrong, Spuds!
