That's what I'd guess too; that game will probably decide the 2 seed. Either way they'll probably be seeing each other again at the DECC.

When was the last time East had anything lower than a 2 seed? Was it in my lifetime?
#4 seed in 1999 comes to mind.

That would've been 3rd grade for me, then. Not a bad little run they're on.

Some trips to state but nothing like the type of success they enjoyed in the 90's.

Yes; they have been rather good at getting these high seeds and then losing in section semifinals. Sigh.

Something has to be done about this monotonous 2-goal output.

Since it's only a minor detail and not really worthy of a new thread for it..

CEC and Andover were tied at 1 until Andover scored with 19 seconds in the third left for the win this afternoon. John Scheuer for the Lumberjacks stopped at least 30 (I forgot to write it down) shots, and had good defensive play around him to keep Andover off the board after an early 1st period PPgoal for Decowski. It could have been because they played Friday night, or CEC did a good job keeping Decowski's line in check other than the PP.

Even in the loss, the best game I've seen CEC play (I've only seen 2 of their 7 wins, and a bunch of losses) this season. Is Andover's huge experience edge (over most of the teams) with a team full of seniors enough to win the section?

de seems to always have more shots, but quality shots matter. you can have 50 shots but if 40 of them are from near the blueline or edges of the rink you won't score more than 2 goals, it always makes it look like de really dominated play.
