While I would love to agree with you on PR, their team defense isn't good enough. They outshot TRF when they played them but lost due to defensive breakdowns and better overall goaltending - and I'm not convinced they have the coaching to put them there. There is so much that would have to go right and on the road in a playoff atmosphere I just don't see it. Your first line said it all Elliott, goaltending will win and that means TRF.elliott70 wrote:I think sections are won by goalies and that means TRF.
If Warroad is 100% their first line could win it for them.
EGF has changed something because when I saw them early they were bad - of course they were not 100% then either.
The way they are playing now I think they have a chance.
LOW and Crookston just do not have enough depth to win three in a row.
Park Rapids would be an interesting choice and would give a boost to the smaller norhtern programs - so they are my dark horse pick. And they have a strong D man and a good first line - coaching would have to be big part of getting to the final game and the other players would have to step up, but once in the final game anything could happen - jus tlook at the Saints.

TRF 4, EGF 2
Two very different styles. EGF's offense against TRF's defense. I think the magic number for TRF is 3 tonight with the obvious edge between the pipes.

TRF and War will be 1 and 2 come section time. Assuming the coaches don't place their vote based on records, anyone with an ounce of hockey knowledge can see that these are the best 2 teams in the section. EGF has had a great 2nd half, not sure what they did but they made a major turn around so I applaude them for that, but I don't think they are better than War or TRF. Please prove me wrong EGF, I would love to see you and TRF in the section final.MNHockey75 wrote:As of 1/31:

These aren't my personal rankings. These are the actual rankings. EGF beat Warroad. Warroad has a chance to claim the #2 spot with a win over EGF in a week. TRF hasn't wrapped anything up yet though. They still play @EGF, Crookston, and LOW.salol44 wrote:TRF and War will be 1 and 2 come section time. Park Rapids' convincing win over Kittson has them at #4 for the time being. They recently outshot LOW 45-28 but lost 2-1. They have big games against Crookston and Kittson coming up. LOW really hurt their chances for a home game with the loss to Kittson. A lot can happen from this point on. Here's how I think it's going to end up...
1. TRF - Win out
2. Warroad - Win out
3. EGF - Lose to TRF and War
4. Park Rapids - Win out
5. Kittson - Lose out
6. Crookston - Beat LOW but lose to TRF and PR
7. LOW - Lose out
Those are the actual rankings? However did you get your hands on those? Did you poll the coaches yourself? If there was such a thing as the "actual rankings" that sure would make that seeding meeting shorter, eh?MNHockey75 wrote:These aren't my personal rankings. These are the actual rankings. Actual rankings would have Kittson ahead of Park Rapids based on win pct.MNHockey75 wrote:These aren't my personal rankings. These are the actual rankings. EGF beat Warroad. But there are no actual rankings because everyone does not play everyone while some play each other twice.
Seedings will go
1 TRF
2 Warroad
3 EGF
my guess is 4 would go to LOW, PR may get it.

Rankings can be based upon any stat....in reality it all depends on the seeding meeting....so yes they are "actual rankings"..and I say that because you never know what they are gonna go by and what will be more persuasive in the meeting....TheDon wrote:Yeah, so not "actual rankings"
on the other hand....who am I to decide?
