TCF or Target Field to host outdoor games next year?
I read online that if the Wild don't get the Winter Classic next year, some high schools and the Gophers will play outside next year as a practice run for the year after's Winter Classic. What do you guys think about this and do you know what high school teams would play in it?
Winter Classic
Take it to the bank.
Did you the the set-up at Fenway. The rink was 50 yards from the fans.

Those please ban me gophers cannot play indoors how can they manage to play outdoors. More important, who will go watch them?Gophers will play outside
Do you mean too much money to have it at TCF of Target Field??? Possibly...but you know that they had all kinds of outdoor hockey last weekend. Personally it is an interesting idea but, I don't know how much fun it is for the fans. the seating never looks that great when they are played in a football or baseball stadium.sachishi4 wrote:I don't think its possible they would make an outdoor rink for the gophers and high school teams. It would cost way too much money.
playing it at TCF or Target field would require refrigeration systems as they are not water. I think I read this year that the NHL has one such system, maybe 2. I cant imagine they are cheap. Especially for something that would never bring in enough money without a pro team. Without the NHL funding it and providing the system this wouldnt happen at TCF or target.

There are plenty of portable rinks out there. I am sure that someone in Minnesota can find one. I would bet that someone would donate the use of the system if needed.sachishi4 wrote:playing it at TCF or Target field would require refrigeration systems as they are not water. TCF would be a much better venue but the parking and escaping the campus is horrible but in case you did not hear: they just gave Brewster a 2 year extension

Basketball, a great game for guys who cant play Hockey

Yes the Brewster extension makes no sense at all. I was kinda expecting them to land a high-profile coach like they did with Tubby, but I guess not.GVvikes wrote:wbmd wrote:Great idea. Oh I heard. Just more agonizing years with Brewster (and Maturi).GVvikes wrote:wbmd wrote:Great idea.
