Seeding Predictions

Post by mchockeydad »

Section seedings this weekend. Lakeville South appears to have locked up the #1 seed. JM & Century will probably be #8 & #9 playing in the pigtail game. Seeds 2-7 are quite a different story. What are your predictions?

I can't find a significant win for Bemidji. Does Krach use the ranking of the defeated team at the time of the game played, or the current rank? For instance, Bemidji beat both GRG and NWC when they were ranked in the top 15. But as of right now, they don't have a win over a top-20 team. Yet they still have a very high score.

Section 4AA and 2AA have half of the 14 teams over 100, Ouch!

2 & 4AA very deep!

KRACH uses current rank.

Think of it this way... KRACH takes your losses and assumes you lost to the best teams on your schedule. Or, you could say, it assumes you beat the worst teams.

So, beating a higher ranked team is offset by losing to a lower ranked team. Meaning, if you're inconsistent, you pay for it in KRACH. We can debate if this is the right way to do it, but it's how KRACH does from what I understand.

Looks like KRACH had section 4AA seding the same as the coaches:

Not shocked as this was one of the purposes of KRACH when developed (to seed teams when not all had head-to-head games prior)
