Duluth East at Eden Prairie, Sat 2/6/10

Post by karl(east) »

A week ago I wasn't too hopeful about this one, but with the Hounds finding their scoring touch and the Eagles losing twice in the past two weeks, we might have a very good game. Thoughts?

The game is at 3 and is on myfoxhockey.

Eagles win 4 -2
Better in net. Stronger 1 line than East. Rau kid is better than any forward East has right now.

Go east!!! If they play the body like the F.L. game. Score like the Avalley game. EASt 4to3.

Not that much interest in this game? EP will be working to get some momentum back. Duluth East seems to have it rolling. Should be a good game. I have to stick with the home team.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the oldtimer on this one. Not that I don't respect my elders, but in the way I wish I could predict an East victory. If it were in Duluth, I would think differently.

Go Hounds!!!

Well, I'm in Duluth and I see this the same. Eagles by two.

No.. I meant if the GAME were in Duluth, I would give the Hounds the edge. That's a tough ride, either way.

Oops, sorry. You'd think I could see the difference between "I" and "it" by now, eh?

If the game was at Heritage, I'd still have a tough time giving the edge to East. A couple of nice back-to-back offensive games, sure, but I'm still not sold on their ability to play with the elite, of which I believe Eden Prairie is a member of.

If I'm wrong on this and East wins, the Hacienda del Sol enchilada will be even tastier. :)

Ok myfoxhockey, I have been driven sufficiently nuts by your repetitive intro music. You may start the broadcast now.

East 2
EP 2

Final. I'll take it.

Shots were in the neighborhood of 45-35 EP. Jeanetta made some spectacular saves; it was the best game I'd seen out of him. I like the move to put Olson on the 1st line; he played well, and it made the 3rd line a lot more potent. The Hounds rolled 3 lines all game, and one of the goals even came from the 4th. Strong game from the defense--Welinski, Paulseth, and Repensky looked good, and Toninato had a nice game as well.

EP rode that first line as they always do, and they produced plenty of great chances, but all in all it was a very intense game that could have easily gone either way.

This was a very entertaining hockey game. EP goalie was solid but the DE goalie played unreal. EP had several great scoring chances but were robbed. For the most part this was a fast paced, physical game. One of the most entertaining HS games I have seen. The fans were treated to a great game and at the end recognized each team for a solid effort.

I swear to goodness, I was going to predict a 2-2 tie, but I let the elder statesmen, oldtimer, convince me otherwise..... Last time I listen to an old fart!!!

Great job by Jeanetta!! Even though East gave up 45 shots, the offense continues to put rubber on the goalies. Ford is no slouch in goal for EP either.

This will make a nice semi-final matchup at the X, eh?? [-o< \:D/
