Section 4AA
Moderators: Mitch Hawker, east hockey, karl(east)
It doesn't matter really who gets seeded 2,3, or 4 WBL, Tartan, or Still neither team really has a quality win other than WBL over Holy Angels, and if Tartan beats East you could argue for a #2. Only reason WBL probaly gets #2 is more SEC votes in section. However, again as previously stated doesn't really matter all three teams are sub par in a sub par section and all three could pull the upset over a over rated Hill team. Should be fun to watch though pretty balanced section.

Pennella and Cotter are the keys to success either way you look about it. They both are still not seeing varsity practice time. I have trouble seeing the Ponies making it past the first round in sections without their REAL two varsity goalies. The main things I have to back this up is the WBL Still game at Stillwater. Housley started his younger goalies in the single most important game of the year. They both looked shaky and clearly couldn't take the pressure. Cates also looked like a JV goalie against FLake letting in goals like a dump-in from the red line. Youngy, how do you expect them to play in front of a packed Aldrich crowd or even in the Coliseum? I don't know about Cotter, but I do know Pennella would be getting talked about a lot more if he was still playing varsity full-time.
Section 4AA seedings
My best guess:
1. Hill-Murray 21-2-1
2. WBL 14-9-1
3. Stillwater 13-9-2
4. Tartan 14-8-1 - maybe they move up with a win over Duluth East
5/6. NSP 13-10 - Saturday NSP-MV winner gets the 5 spot
6/5. Mounds View 10-11-2
7. Roseville 7-15-1
8. Como 9-13-1
9. Saints 2-21
Edited taking Johnson out. Thanks, wbmd.

The coaches don't take things like that into account when seeding teams. If they voted with emotion, Housely's club would be seeded 10th in a 9 team section.youngblood08 wrote:Tartan has a tie with MV, a loss to Woodbury and Park took them to OT. Yes Tartan losses were vs some good teams but they got worked in all of them. I also think last years loss in the first round will effect how coaches vote for Tartan.
Those are common opponents with Stillwater which stillwater has 2 wins over MV, loss and tie with Woodbury and 2 wins over Park. Based on strength of schedule Stillwater has the advantage.
NSP/MV tilt will only move one ahead of the other.

So what if it was just for his kid? What does it matter to you? Were you up for the coaching job before? His kid is leading the team in points. My son plays for him and he has gave him just as much opportunity and coaching as the rest of the Team.
My guess is he leaves and leaves Stillwater in a better spot then they were in. The Pipeline to Hill is gone, they have improved Conference and Section Records every year. If he leaves , Thanks for the Time. If he Stays Thanks for the Time. Because to you and I.........it really doesn't matter what we think. My son has had nothing but a Great experience playing for Coach Housley and with his son.

Youngy,
I find it amusing how you bring up that Tartan played an OT game with Park, yet don't mention that Tartan also played an OT game with East. Or speaking of 1 goal games, your Ponies beat East Ridge 1-0.
Could it be that you are hoping to avoid being on the same side of the bracket as HM? Why? I would think that you would be hoping to get revenge on the Pioneers as soon as you can.
We both know that HM is an over-rated team this year. Even though they won a conference title again, their conference is way below that of the SEC. Of Hill's 2 losses this year, 1 was too a Class A team
. I also know that the Pioneers have never talked about the opportunity to play Stillwater in sections this year and none of them have ever mentioned Coached Housely's antics at the end of last year's game. I think you should be hoping to be placed on Hill's side of the bracket because clearly it is Stillwater's easiest path to a section title.

So the question this year isn't "Will Housley retire". The question is "Will he shake hands and show some class if and when their season ends?"

That's one of the reason I put Tart ahead of Still. I would also say having to play a #4AA , #1A and #4A twice througout the season would make there scheduled a bit tougher than Still. Just my thoughtPioneerprideguy wrote:Youngy,

PPG did STillwater play DE this year?? No. Did tartan play Park? Yes It's called common opponent. Just like MV and Woodbury were between the 2.
I am sure he will show as much class as the Hill players deserve. About as much class that they showed at the last Stillwater game they went to.
Remember what happened to last year's #1.

Classy move trying to intimidate a kid by name on here. Now I can see why you support a guy like Housely (adult). By the way, how did runnin the goalie work out for ya last year?
As for Tartan last year, that was too damn funny!

As for Tartan last year, that was too damn funny! All year the Titan faithful were begging to get the #1 seed and they got it all right. The big difference is Hill understands what it takes to have a bulls-eye on them, Tartan didn't. If any #1 seed gets beat in the first they deserve to be ridiculed...including Hill.

4AA
They're up on the MSHSL website. Let the games begin.
1. Hill-Murray 22-2-1
2. White Bear Lake 15-9-1
3. Stillwater 14-9-2
4. Tartan 15-9-1
5. Mounds View 11-12-2
6. North St. Paul 14-11
7. Roseville 7-17-1
8. SP Como Park 10-14-1
9. SP Saints 4-21
Youngy’s Ponies will have to get past pretty good NSP & WBL clubs before he gets his wish to have them run at HM’s goalie.
