Lady Rams Creates Easier Path To State
It looks like a High Probability Elk River is moved to Section 7AA. Which I predicted. According to a couple of my inside sources.
The Rams knew this would happen. Great Strategy. Run from Warroad. Its too late I believe for Warroad to counter punch and move in to the 8AA. Would of loved to see the Roseau strategy of moving back to A with Warroad following them.
I think we (Moorhead) will give them a good fight in the section and Also Bemidji and North Wright County.
If they think their going to blow through this section. I dont think so. Although it is much easier than through Warroad.

Watched Moorhead play a few times this year and was not impressed. Roseau will have its way with this section.... If Stenerson was smart she would jump into Crookston's or Warroad's program so she would have a chance at seeing a state tourney. Roseau is just too good and will be for years. They have the numbers and are DEEP!!

Stenerson is staying here. She already has the D-1 opportunities. And we will win the section. Conquer the 8A section first and get by Warroad then tell me how great you are.Letitice wrote:Watched Moorhead play a few times this year and was not impressed. We played Roseau once this year and Elk River twice. Elk River handled us both times 6-1, 6-0. I believe your game against us was 5-4 with your impact seniors. Now that your impact seniors are gone your team is weaker and were going to be ready.
From a section perspective we now have a chance to take this section with Roseau replacing Elk River. Thanks Roseau for giving us this new opportunity.
Roseau is not deep. 14A's are not a true indicator. Most of the real good 14UA players are already on their varsity teams. Such as Illikainen - Grand Rapids 94, Curtis - Elk River 94, and I'm sure their are many more.
I must admit Roseau has always had great spin on things and are a great propaganda machine. But the upnorthguy is on to you.
The biggest value in this section will be goaltending. Atleast a 90% Save percentage will be required. This statistic needs to substantiated by disregarding the below 500 teams and calculating the save percentage against above 500 Teams (Quality Shots)
Wow Upnorth, you really need to relax! First of all, I am NOT from Roseau or Warroad thankfully. Second of all, Roseau does have some 14u girls that could have and maybe should have played varsity this year but they were obviously happy with what they had on varsity this year. They have great numbers with the youth teams coming up and are very strong at those levels. I like to alway think positive too, but Roseau has some very talented players that the Spuds will have to reckon with. I do agree that goaltending will be huge and will make or break most teams next year!!

It's time to get your facts straight. Roseau played Moorhead twice this year. This first time, they had their back-up goaltender in, because they knew you were a weak team. Also, they rolled all three lines and played all 3 defensive pairs. This was no contest. SOG first game was 42-21.
The second game was a blow-out, 5 to zip. SOG 45-17! Obviously, you weren't at either of these games. Roseau won both, in case you didn't know! Right now, Roseau is so strong at every level, it will be a while before you see a section final!

Roseau played moorhead in moorhead and beat them 5-0
TOO MUCH
Roseau loses too much from this years team that will not be replaced by players from the 14U team. Not one player moving up wll be an impact player at the varsity level. Goaltending will be O.K. but they lose too much fire power due to graduation.

Roseau is scared
roseau knew they couldnt get by warroad to make it to state so they went AA..you could make the argument that section 8A was better than section 8AA this year in girls high school hockey..but congrats to roseau and good luck at state!
ps im not a warrior fan, just stating the obvious..warroad beat roseau twice in girls high school hockey..and the last score was 5-0 warroad..so if anyone wants to argue this one be my guest

Re: Roseau is scared
No arguement there but what we really need is to have Warroad move up to AA. Regards of the ratings, opinions, etc., Warroad can eventually only lay claim to the best single A team.eastonhock wrote:roseau knew they couldnt get by warroad to make it to state so they went AA..you could make the argument that section 8A was better than section 8AA this year in girls high school hockey..but congrats to roseau and good luck at state!

Why in the world would Warroad opt up to AA when they can breeze through 8A? I am positive that Izzy isn't up to that task. BTW..... Way to go Roseau, u were just too much for Moorhead and Bemidji and did breeze through the section! Good luck to both Warroad and Roseau @ the state tournament!! It will be great to see the state champion for A come out of section 8 even tho most of them are not from Warroad.

Yup wasn't there but sounds like Roseau was very fortunate to get by NWC. Other than the senior defenseman who didn't play....they don't lose anyone!Canada87 wrote:easy with the "Rams breeze through the section", they had a lttle bit of trouble with North Wright County, who was without their top player, and their only Senior didn't play either.
the Rams scored a PP goal in OT to win it.
just trying to get a little credit for our team.

I think u should go on facebook find the players and tell them how bad they are. Makes about am much sense as this. no?HockeyFan1 wrote:Where does one even start with this?hockeylife, mylife wrote:Northfan-Every player that plays on Warroad's team resides in Warroad, MN.
