how many times?
How many times does Brainerd have to prove it?zoom wrote:Quit complaining! If Brainerd is better, and there are views that go both ways...then go to Roseau and prove it....Keep in mind that State will NOT be played at Brainerd...
There was a time, and it may still happen in other sections, but the whole section tournament is played at one site..(NOT NEUTRAL), just predetermined....There have been several times not only in section 8, but others as well the the 2, 3, 4, or 5 seeds have hosted the section tournament! Specifically in(TRF, EGF, WARROAD) Fair,,,um maybe not....Life,,,,um yes....(Again, if Brainerd is really better than Roseau, head North and prove it.)
There is a specific advantage (not to mention travel/bus legs/etc.) to playing a play-off game on your home rink. What happened at the seeding meeting was an embarrassment to Minnesota High School Hockey.
What happened was akin to having the Green Bay Packers seeded higher than the Vikings in the NFC play-offs this year. Can you imagine the uproar?
That said, it will come down to the game between Brainerd and Monticello (after Roseau gets upset by Monticello) so this whole scenerio is for naught.

The Warriors will overcome, led by some shady characters.
It will bug me if they dont...

So RL gave up their proper vote in exchange for the Brainerd 'Bullies' to take it easy on them.Syd Barrett wrote:River Lakes voted Da Worriorz as the #2 seed, so Archie had the boyz take it easy on themelliott70 wrote:They sure gave it to River Lakes.![]()

I can see why the Brainerd fans are upset, doesn't seem right that they are the #3 seed. Home ice is a big advantage. However, arguemnts can be made for both sides, it's not at all like the Packers/Vikings analysis mentioned above. Both teams are pretty close. Brainerd fans have a right to be pissed but there comes a point when enough is enough. If Brainerd is as good as you think they are( not trying to start a fight), they would be the #2 seed, or even #1. When it comes to voting, coaches are not stupid (
) but you have to give them the benefit of the doubt because they are there and see first hand what goes on. Obviously these two teams are pretty close in skill. Rams might have snuck away with one, only time will tell.
Why do teams in the section not have to play each other the same amount of times in a season, and why doesn't the whole section have to play each other? I know it doesn't help when the 1 plays the 10 but, they should have a chance to play EVERYONE in the section. It seems weird that Roseau only playes Brainerd 1 time??
Anyways GO ROSEAU!!! You (may) have gotten lucky being the #2 seed! Show everyone you should have been #1 when you play Thursday, March 11th at the Xcel!!
Brainerd, you are my #2 pick to make it state!!!

I defer to Potatohead9 on this one.... he's got much more "inside" info on 'dem Spuds' than I do. He was rubbing elbows with da Tater Head Coach before the Hill-Murray game last week!northwoods oldtimer wrote:Hey 'CitySputnikGee' and the 'SputnikNut' what are you boys thinking in regards to a Tater run to excel? I have a 'honeybee' in the office pool and wouldn't you know I drew 'dem Taters'.
