Ineligable Player

I heard that orono discovered that one of their players had been ineligable to play the entire season. What happens to the team? Does the school get fined? Can the team finish the season?

If that is true...
School must forfeit all wins (and ties) in which the player played....
AD and/or coach gets censured. I don't think the league has the authority to fine a school.
School can finish out season, but without ineligible player.

Two football seasons ago (08-09) Mahtomedi started the season 5-0, but their back up kicker was ineligible so they technically lost all those games 0-1. They won out, and swept the section they should've had the #1 seed in but instead was #5 I believe.

If this is true, they will have lost every game they played, but I'm guessing they could still get a respectable seed as coaches vote. That is, if the coaches some how didn't know.

The difference is, in football they seed using a formula based on wins and losses and strength of competition. In hockey, they seed based on coaches' opinions on where the teams rank.

Wrong. The player sits out rest of season, no penalty to team or coaches. If the player played in another game, after the high school league found out of his ineligibility, the team would have to forfeit all wins.

Wrong. They banish the player for seven years from the tribe and he loses all of his ranks and titles. It's a little severe but it's a necessity.
