This one will be close for awhile, but Faribault is too good. #1 Faribault over #8 Mankato East 8-4.

East has the chance to pull it off if they can play all three periods and stay aggressive. Im hoping for the upset here. I"ll go east by a one goal margin. :-k

I'd like to think East could pull the upset. They've had a handful of games where they showed signs of being capable of doing it. 6-4 loss to NP with an eng. OT loss to Winona where they actually outshot them. 4-3 loss to West where they led 3-0. Most recently where they held Century scoreless in the 1st period. If they could put together 3 periods like that then they could do it. It's at Faribault and the Falcons have been on a recent roll. It'll be an uphill battle for East. Nothing to lose though.Look at Spring Lake Park. Twice in the last 6 yrs. they've pulled major upsets. In 04 as a #7 seed they knocked off #2 seed & state ranked St. Louis Park 5-2 (stopping over 60 shots). In 07 again as a #7 they beat #2 & state ranked Breck 5-4.
