I'm almost positive I heard the announcers of the Falls/2Harbors game say Virginia was up 20-0 after two against Silver Bay. Can anyone confirm that?

Quite a bit closer than I'd expected either game to be.

Well, the lights are officially out on Duluth Central hockey.

Pity it had to end that way. But it's time to move on, I'm afraid.

Lourdes is a good club but doesn't score an awful lot.

This will be Winona's first semifinal appearance since the early 1950's, they did drop hockey for a number of years though resuming it in the late 1980's or early 1990's I believe.

Red Wing 5
Albert Lea 2

The first 1A semifinal will be between the 2 best offensive teams in 1A, the second between the 2 best defensive teams.

That would account for the gap in my research; I couldn't find anything on Winona from 1956 until the 1984-85 season.

I'm a little surprised at the DC vs. LS score. Could DC be the team to watch out for next year, since most of those kids will be coming back? They may be heading back toward a 20 win season like they had a few years back.
