6AA Semifinal Eden Prairie vs. Wayzata

Post by HockeyMN1 »

Winner has a great chance against Tonka in my opinion. Who goes to the Target Center?
EP two out of three.

I wouldn't be so quick to say the winner of this game will play Tonka, Benilde has a chance at beating them, they did manage to beat Wayzata earlier this year.

I'm going to go with Eden Prairie pulling off the upset in this one by a score of 3-2. Should be a great game!

6AA

Post by blueblood »

Tonka, EP and Wayzata are all capable of winning 6AA let alone the whole state thing.

(IMO, BSM is 2 years out, but it will be tough to replace a 3-yr starter in Meyers).

I ilke EP to get a shot at Tonka at defending their 6AA and state tourney titles.

EP - 3 (ot)
Wayzta - 2

Tonka - 4
BSM - 1

I think it really exploits a flaw in the system when a top 5 team in the state and defending state champs have "pull of an upset" in the semifinals of the section tournament.

All that aside, I think it would be best for MN hockey if Wayzata wins this one so a winner between Tonka and Wayzata can be decided, finally.
Stay Classy, Minnesota.

Why would that be good for Minnesota hockey? Who cares besides Tonka and Wayzata?

The 3 games left in this section would be worthy of the MN HS State Tourney finals. Should be a great show.

Section Six Finals

Post by Lakeviewing »

I think EP beats Wayzata. K Rau is the key to an EP win. EP vs Wayzata. Tonka vs Benilde. Meyer needs to have a great game, but probabaly falls short. I have to think this should be EP vs Tonka for section finals. Wayzata is very good, but may be too young. Who knows, this should be a great game.

Well....in reading the posts, no one is giving Wayzata a chance.

I am going with Wayzata in the upset over Eden Prairie.

It seems like most people are writing off them off.

I hope the Trojans show up and play their best game of the year and beat EP and make believers of many doubters.

GO TROJANS and HOPE YOU WIN !!!!

I do!!
Using that logic, who cares about ANY team, other than the team itself and perhaps their community?
The state tournament is WAY too popular, in this state, to make that logic fit.

I think Wayzata has this one and wouldn't consider it an upset. I think they are the better team (and have lots of hot hockey moms too). I agree with Papa - we want a Wayzata-Tonka Section final at Target Center to find out once and for all which team wins 6AA!

I meant to question why a Tonka-Wayzata final would be "good for Minnesota hockey".

Bring it on Tonka. Target Center has never seen anything quite like Kyle Rau.

Well..... I dunno about that MN1..... I have seen Billy Joel and Elton John there, and Kevin McHale used to be there.... but Rau is a close 4th. :P

Did I not say K. Rau dominates here?

Post by Lakeviewing »

The Don had to be watching this game. This kid needs to be in Maroon and Gold. This kid can flat out score goals. His first goal, bad angle shot, and just went in. His second goal was off a face off and still beat the Wayzata center and stole the puck off their defensemen. The U of M are missing goal scorers. Who knows what he will do at the higher college level, but this is a pretty good start as just a sophomore and junior playing in the Lake. Who knows what he will do as a senior. If I am the St. Cloud, Bulldog, Maverick or Bemidji coach, I am visiting the Rau family.
