I agree. They played a lot better than the last meeting. We just didn't get the bounces this time around. The stupid 4 on 4 overtime thingy killed USA. They're not nearly as skilled.WBLHockeyfan04 wrote:defense wrote:Nice goal no doubt....I just think it's been kind of an uninspired effort so far. They've played a decent game, but it just seems like they have had a little extra jump in the step in their previous games...starmvp wrote:That was impressive. Good hard work down low, leading to a scrappy goal.
I think they've played great in the last two periods. Not sure what game you're watching.

Lol. With how low the expectations were for this USA team I am happy with how they did, though winning the gold would have been just awesome. And yeah I agree with above, I thought they played exceptionally better in today's game than in the game they won. Patrick Kane sure is fun to watch!hockeyfan8675309 wrote:Frikin Canadians. USA should have played better. Miller kept his team in it by far, and Luongo played fine(except for his rebounds). If they would have not gave away those 2 giveaways then they would have won the gold.
With the low expectations that team USA had I am very proud of how they ended up. Canada was a very skilled team and they were playing in Vancouver. The game whent into OT ...can't ask for much more.
My point is that the American players seemed to go out there with a little chip on their shoulders in the first game. They won little battles, were way more physical.
I thought in this game they let the Canadiens skate around too much, especially in their defensive zone. They couldn't really sustain a good forcheck which is likely a combination of the Canadiens being a damn good team and the Americans being less aggressive. Team USA seemed to be in control more during this game, I agree with that. They had better puck protection, just didn't seem like they had that extra hustle. They did however play a very close game, so be it. The better team won today.

I was also surprised they switched ends for the OT also.
Oh well. It was a great game, and Olympics for the USA.
I thought that was weird too with the 4 on 4 OT. I also thought it was weird they didn't play on an Olympic sized rink.
P.S. Sidney Crosby was born to be a hockey player. Stanley Cup and a Gold medal already carrying both teams on his back at the age of 22.

the only problem is that the NHL players that played in the plympics dont play like this in the NHL. They actually put a lot of effort into the olympics. During the NHL regular season, they probably play at about 90% speed (if u wonder why NHL does not get great ratings that is why.) same with the NBA.

He was also born to dive at every ref he sees and whine for penalties constantly. Not my favorite NHL player, sorry.nhl_combine wrote:BodyShots wrote:Anybody else find it odd that they went to a 4 on 4 OT? Turncoats, why not Parise that kid is a great US born player so give him some props. You boys are born and bread in the USA not some defunct Soviet Gulag. That communist Ovechkin can stuff it! Different generation boys!! You would not even understand it.
Great tournament USA you had heart and that is what we are about! Wish Herb Brooks would have been around to see this tournament.
