I think it's tough to say one team outplayed the other team. If you're looking at shots on goal, then the edge is Stillwater. But I think in both games, each team had stretches where they were better than the other team. I expect a simular game Wednesday, and it easily could come down to which goalie makes the biggest save. My biggest concerns wth the Bear's this season has been watching them struggle bringing the puck out of their own zone, and their inability to finish off games in the closing minutes.gophs16 wrote:Hmmm, I don't think you were there then.wblhockeyfan8 wrote:Hmmm, I don't think they were outplayed either game.gophs16 wrote:Stillwater outplayed em both times, and they will again except this time they will bring home the W
WHEN IT COUNTS!!!
Stillwater-4
Bears-2
5 on 5 was even, along with shots.
WBL has had issues finishing games so Stillwater maybe out played them in the last 10 minutes, where they score a majority of their goals.

I am the one that feels shame...... Shame on me for being a porcupine towards WBL.
I will leave it to you.
You want me on your side the rest of the way, or you want me to continue to be Benedict Goldfishdude and root for Stillwater and H-M??
Keep in mind I am 3-782 in my analysis predictions, including my 8-0 prediction over Roseville that saw a goal scored in the final :25 seconds kept me from going bonkers.
If you want WBL to win, then you better let me root for Stillwater and H-M...
Then again, Youngy and PPG..... You may want me off your side, too.
Looks like I may very well get voted off the island!!!

I'm not even gonna argue, because clearly you don't believe in individual opinions.gophs16 wrote:Hmmm, I don't think you were there then.wblhockeyfan8 wrote:Hmmm, I don't think they were outplayed either game.gophs16 wrote:Stillwater outplayed em both times, and they will again except this time they will bring home the W

I think it I just got a body shot. Trust me respect for coaches is in the eye of the beholder. Whether a coach is doing a good job is relative. Look around the SEC they are in the top four for sure...but I am not here to defend those guys. The beauty of sports is their records will speak for themselves.

I think with your track record, and the Gophs picking against the Bears once again. They may actually make it to state this year!

However, I know I have said alot of bad things about my Bears... I have jumped on the bandwagons of East, H-M and Stillwater..... Eagan, Forest Lake... and all...
I usually end up on the wrong side on a lot of things in my life, but I am reminded of words that I will always stand behind... no matter how wrong I am, I always know the truth...

Since depth generally refers to overall quality, let’s not fool ourselves into thinking one game amounts to diddly-squat. Over the length of the season, SW & WBL have played 20 games against the same common opponents. Point totals and goal differential for each team vs common opponents (CO) follow:Pioneerprideguy wrote:It must have been the Ponies depth that pulled out that big 1-0 win over East Ridge late in the season.bigtimescout wrote:Stilly in a tight one, 4-3, stillwater is too deep imo for the bears to match up with this late in the season. WBL 92 vs CO 71 = 21 pt goal differential
SW 75 vs CO 42 = 33 pt goal differential
Always helps to have the whole picture prior to cocking-off.

Thanks for providing the whole picture for us. Based on the whole picture, one would think that Stillwater would have finished higher in the conference standings and should have been seeded higher than #3...perhaps even #1. They have finished strong down the stretch (let's all forget the ER game...that was just an off night) and right now, they are clearly the team to beat. Who knows, maybe the Bears can pull off the upset.

Still WBL has not been playing their best hockey. I pick the Bears to win only if Sager can get his 1st line to play better in the neutral and defensive zones, 2nd line has to capitalize on their scoring chances and Sager leaves his 2 power play lines alone(fat chance he cant help himself). As always hold your breath for the defence, goalie and 3rd line(but fun to watch the chaos they cause). This is a lot to overcome but Good luck Bears hope you win because I love watching the WBL/Hill games for the championship they are truely classic!!
The tournament they are currently playing in is called “Sections." If you continue to dwell on conference standings/seedings and a single Stillwater “Win” vs ER, you will likely miss out on some great playoff hockey. Not sure what your ax-to-grind is, but I can confidently say that the WBL & SW fans will see a fantastic game tomorrow night. When all is said and done, you can bet the majority of the losing teams’ fan-base will be rooting for the winning team on Friday night vs H-M. If H-M is as stuck in the past as one of their biggest supporters on this forum, there will be a new team representing the Class 4AA Section, at the X this year.Pioneerprideguy wrote:Thanks for providing the whole picture for us. Let's look at the only two games that matter. Head - to - head. I believe WBL was 2 - 0 in these match ups. Now can they do it a third time? We will find out later this week.Spooge wrote:Since depth generally refers to overall quality, let’s not fool ourselves into thinking one game amounts to diddly-squat. Both of those games were counted as part of the 20 games against common opponents. While I agree, and would've been content looking at "head-to-head" only, PPG got me thinking about things after harping on the 1-0 SW win over ER. I'm glad PPG brought it up, as I had assumed WBL would've had the better overall point-differential against common opponents.BodyShots wrote:Let's look at the only two games that matter.
