The game was a fun physical game to watch as a non-partisan hockey fan..plenty of hard hits and speed, and student sections going back and forth.
The Hibbing goaltender didn't have a real good night though.. the first goal.. he went down to his knees and kicked a puck in that had hit the boards behind him on a point-shot..while another was a 5-hole shot... I'm not completely sure on the other goal as I was screened by players and only saw it go in the net.
I thought Hibbing could get back into the game with a powerplay midway through the third but Myhre was good, and Hibbing rang one square off a post (pic later) as he dove across to try and get in position. As with most shutouts, his defense was great in front of him as well.

I wonder who was holding that?
To sum up the game, Virginia came to play, Hibbing did not. The refs missed some calls both ways, but really nothing major. Virginia won because they played better. As a Hibbing fan, im pissed off about how the jackets played, but the seasons over so I guess theres really no use complaining about it. Congrats to Virginia, and good luck at state.

Hibbing didn't have any luck in this game. Virginia came out better in the first and took off from there. Lets hope 7a gets represented well. Hope the net stays put better in St. Paul
anyone know why the Hibbing goal got called off?

mr. plow,
Can you tell me why the net would always come lose everytime the puck was in or near the crease? just wondering.

Its going to be interesting to see who Virginia/MIB plays first. If they can get past the first game with a win, I think they will come out strong this year. Good Luck 7A!
